what do you guys think?

I think bodybuilding shows have gotten very weak when Dennis James can contend or win at this stage in his career. He looks like crap compared to the 1999 and 2000 versions. That said, he never looked very good back then. He doesn't have an aesthetic structure.

Dennis James has Lats that resemble the Levees in New Orleans the day after Katrina hit ...

It depends on the Lineup he got lucky the last time - not a strong lineup
-
It's Ben White's show to lose.

Ben is a legend in his own mind - if you dont believe ask him

James is actually getting better and better - its great to see.

Dennis has done great these past couple of years. Granted, his fdb pose isn't the best, but he looks great nonetheless. I hope he does repeat.

dennis james never looked good? you must have never looked at any pictures of him before.
-
Since he looked like microwaved shit at the last show, I certainly hope he doesn't.
-
Anyone know why he always seems to look much bigger and harder and more vascular 2 weeks out always ? What is he doing wrong at the last minute?
-
he's very sensitive to carbs

I see Ed Nunn on that list........if he has put on a bit of muscle since the nationals, he'll do quite well in that lineup.
-
I think Dennis remains a top 10 Olympia contender. He certainly won't be in top 6 with this year's lineup, but he is still a great bodybuilder. Funny how so few on here respect that.
-
What- no Fouad Abiad?!
-
Craig Richardson is always a very dangerous contender. When he's on...watch out. Dennis has a good shot at winning that one but you never know...with his track record, he's known to fluctuate a lot , looks absolutely fantastic 2 days before the show only to mess it up the day of. I really hope he can pull another win , he fully deserves it. Dan

Anyone planning on doing the Aug 30 show that might be ready early to stop in for an O qualification?

those gym shots of him are always post-workout, with a good chest and shoulder pump, in a warm gym, after 15 units of insulin and 3 carboforces............. .........compleatly different then standing around backstage for 2 or 3 hours, and goin gout on stage for 30-40 minutes in a cold audoritorium, you flatten out, your veins recede, you lose your pump..................th e true students of the sport, and the most successful bodybuilders are the ones who know how to fuck wiht ther carbs, salt, and water...............and keep the package primed on stage

I only like the fullness that DJ has on his gym shots! :o
For me, I don’t like his look on stage. I am not saying he does not look good, but I mean not good for me.

what do you guys think?
Maybe if he incorporates a tanktop in his posing routine.

It is Dennis' year - first Tampa, now Dallas.... unless Ed Nunn surprises them all..

no its not...........i have picked tufts of dog-poo off the bottom of my sneaker that were more aesthetically pleasing then dennis james looked last weekend............he should have been 2nd, maybe even 3rd.................but the lineup was full of a bunch of no names anyway
as if the sport of bodybuilding didnt suck enough, and was not already in enough trouble................. the top 7 or 8 guys in the sport wont do any shows but the arnold and the olympia...........and the top 3 or 4 will only do the olympia.............fuck ing ridiculous.,,,,,,,,,,,that is a privledge that should only be reserved for multi-mr. o winners............the rest of the guys should have to compete at least 2 to 3 times per year.
the sport is on its knees.,.......and they are stabbing it through the heart

I day out of Europa Supershow Dallas!
Again I had the leave the house real early to catch a 6.40am flight from Phoenix to Dallas.
So I got up at 3am to do a short cardio session and prepare some of my meals for the trip. Since Dallas is 2 hours ahead I had to plan the food a little diffently.
First meal was 5am =7am Dalllas time . from then I would eat every 2 1/2 hours to make sure I get enough carbs in my system ( about 40g per meal) throughout the day. My meals will be simply chicken and rice with no sodium at all.
I left the house at 5.15am weighting 255lbs, I safely arrived Dallas around 11.10 local time, went straight to hotel and started to relax and marinate for tomorrows prejudging. I cut my water intake today from 2 gallons to only 32oz water throughout the day which means like just about a big sip with each meal. George will arrive tonight and take over the drying out progress. As of 10.30pm my weight is 253lbs.
What I will present tomorrow is a big and ripped DJ with big improvements from last week in the condition department especially ham and glutes!
I will probably have another late meal since prejudging is tomorrow night instead of the usual morning prejudgings.
Overall I feel very good and confident and I'm ready to do battle and fight for another victory!!!
