Defensive matchups. The Spurs have no answer for Gasol and Randolph down low. Randolph is a rebounding machine, he averaged 12 a game on the season. Gasol is vastly improving, too. Memphis definitely put themselves on the map in the playoff series. All without top scorer Rudy Gay, too.

Gasol was sort of a throw in from LA in the Kwame for Pau trade.  Turned out to be a steal for Memphis.  Too bad LA couldn't have kept him.

fuck..thats all i can say, so dissapointed with the lakers.
I have a $1000 on them to win it all, seems like a complete loss at this stage.

Good job by the Mavs

I don't even know what to say.  I thought it was going to be about a five game series . . . but not like this.

Pau has turned into Pau Ga-soft again.  What the heck happened to him?  Dude is working his way into the lane and then shooting fadeaway jumpers.   ::)

Kobe can't do it by himself.

What's happening with Pau? Easy. He's being forced to defend the perimeter against Nowitski instead of working down low in the post, where's he's most comfortable. Nowitski is a matchup nightmare for anybody. Seven feet tall and can hit 3's with regularity. Just a freak.

The lakers haven't had to play the Mavericks in the playoffs in quite a few years so they're not accustomed to them.

You thought the Lakers were going to win this series in 5? Laughable. Dallas is easily one of the top 3 deepest teams in the league. They didn't win 57 games for nothing. And they're not playing with Caron Butler.

Are you kidding?  LA has owned Dallas for about the last ten years.  They routinely beat Dallas in Dallas, including this season.

And a deep team?  Please.  With Butler hurt they have one guy off the bench who can score (Terry).  Peja can hit a three or two a game, which is usually the sum total of his contribution.

I'm not a big fan of Dirk.  Great player, but hardly a tough player.  Has disappeared in big games.  Can't play defense.

Yet they're down 2-0 on their on home floor on the biggest stage, the playoffs. Nowitzki is owning Pau. Beach...you don't think Dallas is a deep team? The one player who has had the biggest impact is Tyson Chandler. With him, Dallas can play defense. He makes a huge difference in the game. What happened to New Orleans when he left? They went from being one of the top teams in the western conference to a team lucky to make the playoffs after they made the Okafor trade.

In my opinion, Barea, Haywood, Terry, and Peja get the job done when its their turn to produce.

I'm curious to see how the Lakers play on the road in Dallas.
