New Phone
« on: August 21, 2013, 12:10:23 AM »
My Motorola 3G smart phone was apparently out of date had been eligible for an upgrade for about a year. The other day when I was at Costco, I checked their cell phone Kiosk to see what was available. Keep in mind my current phone was working fine for me. Anyway, I was taken by the Samsung G4 Note II phone, mainly for its bigger screen, (remember, I am a geezer and so vision is an issue sometimes). It was hardly the free upgrade coming my way thanks to Verizon; free translating to $175. I sprung for it, spent most of yesterday evening setting it up and learning the features it has. Today I spent too many hours trying to reestablish my Starbucks card access which proved problematical for reasons I won't go into too much detail about here.

Anyway, I chalk this up to me keeping myself instep with today. If I can learn new technology, I am not yet dead. LOL. I did solve the Starbucks dilemma after devoting too many hours to this while visiting my sister who is in the hospital with heart failure again.

I guess I am not too far gone because I am already loving this phone. The larger screen is excellent. The calendar works so much better than my previous smart phone. Today I got a call and it took me too long to figure out how to answer it, so I had to call them back. But all is good.

One funny thing that happened last night was that I was playing around with the gallery and accidentally sent a photo I had taken of my wife to our Internet television. She yelled from the living room as her program was interrupted, "What is my picture doing on the TV?" I still don't know what happened except that I was logged on to our network with the phone. Thank goodness I didn't send porn to the television.  ::)
