Intermittent Fasting - your opinions please
« on: November 19, 2017, 07:02:15 AM »
Anyone here done intermittent fasting?

Apparently glucose causes the common fat gut in males (and bodybuilders), and intermittent fasting reduces glucose.

I fast for 24hrs once in 10 days, usually when I have lots of work to do. Your body takes a break from food and you don’t have to think about when and what you’re gonna eat. Refreshing

Why are you struggling with fat? I thought you're racially and IQ superior?

I never claimed physical superiority over anyone.  Except Shizzo.

It is true I have allowed myself to accumulate too much fat.  I was super lean most of my life.  I have shown a failure in character by eating poorly.

Can you tell me what benefits you have seen from doing that?

If you have high blood glucose and then do a fast eventually you’ll burn up some glycogen and then the glucose will be taken up from the blood into the muscles. But at the end of the day it still comes down to your total amount of calories As to whether or not you’ll accumulated body fat.

Glucose causes fat gain indirectly. When your blood sugar is high and your glycogen stores are full, your body will burn glucose when it otherwise would be burning fat and the fat ends up getting stored in the fat cells. Again, it still comes down to calories.

Thanks for the broscience.  ::)

Most of the Bro science I learned was from 70s bodybuilders. It pretty much all turned out to be right.

The guy who ushered in the super ripped grainy look was Rich Gaspari and his technique was to use lots and lots of drugs.

Do it and will never go back. The time I save only eating 6 to 8 hours per day blows my mind. I honestly never thought it would make that much of a difference but it does. Not having to worry about packing food around everywhere is nice. I feel less bloated...I don't have to chew gum/brush teeth as often because I'm not eating as often. Plus food is more satisfying as I'm not eating little to average meals....just one to two big satisfying meals plus some snacks. I always thought it was a bit bunk but after trying it I'm a big believer.

That is 4%

Wonder what Arnie would have weighed @ 4%?
His best stage weight was 237 in 80 he only weighed 225, probably 210 @ 4% at 6'2"

I do the same thing.  I eat a normal lunch, then a big meal at dinner time.  I do my workouts after work so I can go home and eat my big meal.  All the science around timed eating is total BS.  It doesn't matter when you eat as long as you get your calories in.  Everyone should do what works for them.  I like eating this way because I never liked eating throughout the whole day and feeling bloated all the time.
