We'll you have to find your own style. I like loafers and chinos for casual wear. I also like various boots and premium denim.

I just think it looks kinda tacky for a grown man to dress like a child in sneakers. But America is probably the worst dressed 1st world nation. A nation of slobs but it wasn't always that way. Back in the days even poor people wore bespoke suits. People took pride in the way they looked.

I like chucks and vans for casual kick back wear. They're simple and plain in design which is a plus, stylistically. I know technically they are tennis shoes but they've kinda transcended that over the years.

People of a certain age (well my age) should not care so much about the details of their outfit, but rather is it comfortable or not. I wear sandals because they are comfortable. If sneakers fit my fat feet comfortably, I'd wear them. Fashion statements are for young men on the prowl.

the best advice you'll get is this;

make sure your clothes fit.

spending $7 on tailoring a $20 will look better than a $40 off the rack shirt. (well, the fabric might not be as good, but it'll look good at least)

Yeah this is what I mean by sneakers or something like a low cut classic adidas. I don't like bulkier bball or running shoe types with jeans but some guys(douchie) can pull it off.

I wear track pants everyday... since I spend the majority of my waking hours in the gym, and the AC gets cold, so i'd rather look professional and wear a matching jacket than some random hoodie. Am I supposed to wear some Cole Haan's, or Rockports, or Ferragamo's with fitted jeans to the gym?
