He makes some great points in there.
-
great man 95% of the time.

... and thats about as far as it'll go.

Is it just me, ...or did anyone else notice how starkly absent the chamber appeared to be.
Is there a wideshot of the chamber during that same speech?

I know. That is the frustrating part. With all of his supporters you would think that there would be a difference made at least on the war on drugs and freedoms being raped, etc..
What is stopping us Paulaneers from moving forward and making a difference?

Because he really doesn't have that many supporters.

What's funny is that a vast majority of americans support so many of RP's talking points..
.. and then go vote for a polar opposite in Obama. Americans weren't duped. We were stupid.

Well, him running as a republican and having these views that are not within the modern republican stance killed him. He fucked himself and in a way fucked every one of his supporters.

True. All he did was attract conservatives and libertarians away from a candidate who actually had a chance at winning. He guaranteed an Obama win.
Thanks, 240. ;D

If he didn't run as a Repub, he would have gotten less media attention then he already did during the elections. He got the message out, that was more important than winning at this stage.

Mccain could have selected Ron paul as his running mate. he would have won 45 or 46 states.

I guess the "all or nothing crowd" missed this one.

I'm serious.
Mccain got 46% of the vote, and that's with 18% of repubs staying home.
Ron paul fit the bill for that far-right group. He's a religious far-righter. Very conservative on most social issues.
mccain/Paul would have wiped the floor with Obama, without a doubt. Those anti-war, anti-bush repubs who wrote "Ron paul love" all over everything - many of them jumped to obama because he was the next-best thing to change and ending the iraq war
(not in reality of course, but compared with "bush II" mccain).
I'd love to see a poll, asking ron paul supporters who they chose in the general election. I'm betting many ran with obama.

I basically agree with him one this one too. The only time I want regulation of tobacco/alcohol is as it relates to targeting kids.
