Hey, PELLIUS, I gotta butt in her and get off topic .... but do you agree that Waimanalo Beach is the world's best beach?
Although I disagree ... it could damn well be!
Waimanalo was just to damn quiet and too damn deserted during the 40+ years I vegetated on Oahu.
But I could tell you some dam good stories that ocurred on that side of the island such as swimming with the dolphins, helping those dumb Big Sandy body-surfers get out of the water because of a broken bone or two within the upper regions of their body, driving my VW with Arnold in the co-pilot seat and Franco and Arti Zeller squeezed in the back with roughly a ton of camera gear ..... .looking for a spot of sun so that Arti could shoot a picture Arnold for Joe's next magazine cover (It was a very rainy day!) ... but most of all you'd probably enjoy the story about Arnold (Yea ... tthat Arnold) and Wayne (No ... Not that Wayne) putting up a big fight with the current that tried to pull them out to sea ... and never to return.
You probably already know that .... if the current in that area was to pull you out to sea .... it would eventually push you back roughly a mile or two from where your swim first started.
But for some strange reason the Pacific spit Arnold and Wane out at the exact same spot at which they had entered .... but not without a fight and a major struggle which took them a long while to recover while laying on the shoreline and probably saying prayers of thanks because they were still alive.
Here's a new thought that I just THUNK. Is that the Dolman Estate in one of the below photos? We lived next door for many years and sorta, kinda ran a 1st Aid Dispensary for every surfer who took a fall onto the reef just 50 yards from our back door.
