The Black Dog is a British electronic music group, founded by Ken Downie along with Ed Handley and Andy Turner. Regarded as legends by some, the group are pioneers who, along with acts like Autechre, Aphex Twin, µ-ziq and LFO, came to define the techno movement known as intelligent dance music (IDM) in the early 1990s.

In a religious education class at a Wolverhampton school in the late 80s, Nathan Pope got his first taste of techno and house. Listening on a walkman at the back of the class to tracks by Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, his musical world exploded and so began his life-long love affair with both types of music.

By the mid-nineties the cult of the superstar DJ had finally taken hold everywhere in the UK, and, disillusioned, he turned his back on it all and pursued a career in acting (his second love), and then software design, and even had a shot at stand-up comedy before the music sucked him back in. It sounded amazing again, a new generation had pushed it forwards and he wanted to be a part of it once more.

The birth of his daughter, now three, was the inspiration he needed and he started again. Intense, weekend-long studio sessions in Brighton sandwiched between parenting and the day-job, have given birth to his latest project, Antenna Happy.

Sounds from the Ground (SFTG) is an English electronic music duo formed in 1995. Both members Nick Woolfson and Elliot Jones met through their involvement with the underground music scene in London.

Elliot Jones's background is in chillout and dub music, from running his own label and performing for clubs and gatherings in the early 1990s. Nick Woolfson has worked in lots of different styles of music, as long as it is innovative and good quality, with downtempo being his comfort zone. Jones had written Triangle as a demo which was introduced to Woolfson; their styles matched and the duo was born.

Woolfson's studio in London is called The Starlight Rooms. Woolfson has been working primarily with Mac and Logic for approximately the last 10 years. He has incorporated older analog and digital synthesizers into his music: Yamaha CS-70, ARP Axxe, Moog Rogue, Yamaha CS30, Roland TB-303, Yamaha DX7, Virus, 2 x Roland JV-1080, 2 x Akai S3000 samplers. A Mackie 32-8 plus extra 24 input mixing desk has been rendered virtually redundant by the Mac.

SFTG have collaborated with various artists over the years, including vocalists Taz, Aine, Colein, Nicola Hitchcock, Dillinger and General Levy. The duo has also worked with pedal steel guitarist BJ Cole, ex Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, as well as Gaudi and Benjamin Zephaniah.

Lusine (also L'usine and Lusine ICL) is the stage name of Jeff McIlwain, an ambient/IDM musician. Originally a Texas native, McIlwain now resides in Seattle. In 1998, he attended California Institute of the Arts to study 20th century electronic music and sound design for music and film. Soon after, he met Shad Scott and put out a self-titled release with Isophlux.

According to Andy Kellman of Allmusic,

"While there might be other producers who are more accomplished at making idyllic downtempo, or placid IDM, or abstract hip-hop, or haunting ambient techno, or blipping/skipping minimal house, few—if any—are capable of covering all of that ground with such sharp consistency on one disc."

Lusine is Armenian for moon. Lusine is also a common name in Armenia. L'usine is French for the factory.

WeJa Priest

Lost soul from Planet Quizeilahr of the New Zhatos Galaxy. Exiled from my planet, convicted for the crime of educating my Quizeilahrian people of Psycles, the path to Aural Continuum. Once again I shall return to my home. May the Goddess of psychic awareness have mercy on those who have banished me for the love of my people and warn them of my return, so that they may be prepared for the wrath I shall release upon them.

Darren Foreman (born 14 May 1982 in Stanmore, North London), better known as Beardyman, is a British multivocalist, musician and comedian from London renowned for his beatboxing skills and use of live looping.

His music frequently contains elements of drum and bass, dubstep, breakbeat, trance, techno and other associated forms of electronic dance music. He also incorporates other forms of music into his live sets, including but not limited to reggae and country music, often purely for the purpose of providing a comedic counterpoint to his beatboxing. Virtually all of his music is created using only his vocal cords to produce sounds, and incorporating music technology such as vocoders and software synthesis to alter the pitch of his voice, or to add various kinds of audio effects such as delays, reverbs or modulation effects.

Scandroid is an electronic music duo formed by Klayton and Varien in 2013.

The aim of this project was to create music that consisted of elements from 80's retro and electronic music with what the duo have described as a "Neo-Tokyo" theme. DJZ called the duos first song Salvation Code a "...retro synth-pop tune that harkens back to past visions of a cyberpunk future." and that it was a sci-fi narrative song.

Teen Daze is the stage name of ambient/atmospheric, electronic-pop musician Jamison (who never reveals his full name). The British Columbia native has built up quite the body of work over the five years as Teen Daze, which has culminated with the release of his new EP and first work of 2015, A World Away.

A World Away
sees Teen Daze move away from his vocal orientated earlier work, shifting to a direction that is more beat driven, giving the listener a far better feeling of the ambient sounds at work. The EP spans six tracks, ranging from four minutes to the eight minute epic, ‘Than’, totalling around 35 minutes.

What makes Teen Daze‘s music so accessible is its ability to fill so many different moods of a listener. If you want something to relax to, A World Away, fits the description. If it is something to reflect on, or wanting to be inspired by, the EP again fits the bill.

Again if by chance any of you are considering a getaway in January give this a shot.  My wife and I have gone the past 5 years and it's become a staple in our lives. We are well experienced in party trips from Ibiza to Croatia to Vegas, WMC, etc.. This by far surpasses all of them. We might go scuba diving one day and the next we will rip it all day and night at the beach parties, such a great vibe and good mix of people. If anyone does consider hit let me know I will be glad to meet up down there.  Met two getbiggers already down there  :)

Hailing from Philadelphia, 23 year old Tyler Minford AKA Louis Futon has risen to prominence over the course of only two years. Heavily influenced by Hip-Hop, Louis Futon is the only producer ever to create official remixes for Logic, Mos Def, G-Eazy, Future, Wiz Khalifa, and more.

Regardless of his influences, Louis rebelliously declares, "Genres don't define me." From creating Trap and Future Bass rooted originals to changing the very DNA of some of Hip-Hop's biggest hits, Louis is able to defy boundaries. Typically consisting of bright melodies and rhythmic electro-tones carried by Hip-Hop drums, Louis Futon has keenly carved out a genre that ironically adheres to none.

While many of the songs on Odeon feature guest vocalists, instrumental, ambient compositions remain an area of expertise for Tosca. "I don't like the term 'ambient' so much, but I use it as a recognition point," says Richard Dorfmeister. Rupert Huber clarifies further, "We don't mean 'ambient' like the ambient scene of the 70s and 80s, or Music for Airports, rather it's more like a sound collage. When we say 'ambient,' we mean no beat." 'Bonjour,' which anchors the upcoming album Odeon, offers ample proof that Tosca's mastery of lush, pastoral soundscapes remains unchallenged, and offers a glimpse of the "elegant dark" direction explored on the new LP.

In amongst the tracks emanating from that fertile exploration, Simon Cullen’s Lasertom has been digging deep into cosmic disco sounds for the last few years ( the name at least originated from the sound of the tom drum used on disco records). In much the same way that edits reappropriate older tracks for a different setting, in Bande Apartment’s case for DJs and the dancefloor, it was Cullen’s experiments into pinpointed older grooves that set off Lasertom on the path that has now culminated in Drift, his superb debut album, out now on German label Nang Records.

#Warning: bodybuilding-related, WTF?! & only gay if you want it to be.#

For those who don’t know him, Rummelsnuff’s a muscle-bound sea captain who sings maritime rhymes with just a pinch of avant-garde homoerotica (he should also recruit Master Bates and Seaman Staines to join his crew!).
