Title: WWE flip-flopping BIG TIME: Ultimate Warrior-The Ultimate Collection is on DVD
Post by: MCWAY on April 05, 2014, 07:43:45 PM
First they bury Warrior with the "Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" deal. Now, they praise Warrior (or at least, he praises himself) in this video.

he is up next ...
Randy Orton said in the red carpet show that warrior
Didn't attend rehearsal.. and he was looking forward to his speech..
He said does Vince know... laughing ;D
Sgt. Slaughter called him the ultimate puke in character when he was interviewed
Before it started.

Warrior spoke very candid how much it hurt him when the DVD of
The self destruction of the ultimate warrior came out.
He went a bit long but he shared a lot great stories of behind the scenes stuff.it was great hearing from the warrior about back stage policies and other stuff that went on with the wrestlers
It looks like the warrior and WWE made peace..
A lot better than I expected...

Boy, no warming up in the bullpen for you, is there?
 ;D

I guess I'm just cheap. I didn't buy the "Self-Destruction...." video until it was on clearance sale at FYE.

I don't think they buried any hatchet. I think this is more to do with Vince once again exercising some kind of "ownership" over the UW character, and Hellwig making a profit while satisfying his ego in getting to tell his side of the story on a WWE forum.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if those two were at each other's throats again in a few years (ala SBG) once this cash cow dies.

Point blank, this was the only way left for Hellwig to make any substantial money from the character he legally owns. I think it was a great business decision on his part, but I don'tthink it means that he and Vince are "friends" again.
It was also a way for Vince to make money on the character. The only footage he owns has been repackaged for one DVD. Adding Jim's perspective is about the only way anyone would buy another.

I agree, their not "friends" again and never will be. This is simply business.

The one thing I see about VKM is that he will do what is right for the business. He plans ahead. People may disagree but VKM will/has put his own personal feelings aside and bring people back even after they've double crossed him and/or walked out on him.

I honestly thought Warrior would only make the HOF posthumously. But, it is great to know that all the HOF inductees are alive, with the lone exception of Paul Bearer.

The word was that the reason they inducted Moody this year is so the folks in Mobile, Alabama wrestling fans could make the drive to New Orleans to honor him and see the induction.

I think the "Self-Destruction..." video was WWE's being reactionary, after years of listening to Helwig rip McMahon and the company on the web.

But, even in that first video, the younger guys (Jericho, Edge, and Christian) are very complimentary of Warrior. Even Hulk Hogan is fairly nice to him. Heenan, Dibiase, Prichard (Brother Love), and Lombardi (Brooklyn Brawler) just murdered the guy, making it as if UW couldn't wrestle his way out of a paper bag.

Warrioris not stupid. He would never had agreed to the HOF unless it was for big money, royalties, etc. Warrior is one of a handful who took it to Vince and got him in court or in the media.

He thank HHH by his real name Paul for make it happen / closure..
It looks like HHH is the 1 that has been doing good stuff behind the scenes..
First Bruno and now warrior.. He will probably get the macho man to be next..
What I mean is the HOF..

Isn't "The Genius" holding Savage HOF induction up, because he wants their father, Angelo Poffo, to get inducted with the Macho Man?

And (unless I miss my guess) Owen Hart's widow, Martha, refuses to let Owen get inducted, as she wants nothing to do with WWE. She still blames his death on Vince McMahon, all stemming from allegedly burying Owen by making him the Blue Blazer again (because he refused to do a storyline involving an affair with Debra McMichael, to start a feud with 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett).

BTW, what's the deal with Honky Tonk Man? How can you NOT have 'the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time" in the HOF?

I heard honkey wanted big dollars and wanted to be the headliner for the night..
And the old man said no..
I heard the Genius was invited to mania as a special guest of the McMahon s..
Not quite sure if he accepted.. I think they wanted to get macho into HOF
Next year.

Before Savage died he told Lanny he only wanted to be inducted if his brother and father were to go back n with him as a package. Lanny is just respecting his dead brothers wishes.

I've heard Lanny claim that those were Angelo's wishes as well.

Trust me; they'll all be inducted within the next several years.

true but Bobby the brain lost a lot of credibility with his comments. for instance, he claims warrior 'dropped him right on his face' with the press slam at WM5 yet the footage shows Heenan literally rolling down warrior's back with his face/head never even touching the mat. Warrior protected Heenan well and he made it sound like he nearly killed him ::)

wtf Brain?

Last night when the warrior spoke he said that he was not a bad person and never
Did anything to hurt anybody.. He also stated that if the boys didn't like you in some way
They would pick on you and you wouldn't last 2 long in the business.. He brought the bull dogs as being
The ones that would push people's button .. He said he never had a problem with the bull dogs..

No - in fact, they started training and traveling together at one point. Then, years later, he and Davey were fired from the Fed when it was discovered they were receiving shipments of hGH from the same pharmacy in England.

Yeah I remember hearing about that but they really made Warrior and Bulldog the scape goats for that. The whole locker room back then was juicing, I dont see why they only fired those two.

They had other issues with Hellwig. He was always tough to do business with, and they may have used the hGH thing as an excuse to axe him. As for Davey, he may have been a victim of circumstance only for receiving "goods" from the same source.

B. Brian Blair was released from WWF after Jake was fired. That's because, after being told he was being terminated for failing his drug test, Jake said something like, "Well, what about Blair? He's using the same shit!" So, management targeted Blair and terminated him!

Yup...Vince couldn't take chances with his steroid trial in the works so he was forced to play by the book or face bunking with bubba for the next twenty five years.

Remember when Iron Sheik was told he tested positive in '87, and responded by telling Vince, "Oh, thank you very much!" He thought "positive" meant "good!"

Yeah, he brought his two daughters out on stage with him during the Hall of Fame induction on Sunday, they both looked about 10 years old only. Then he spoke about his wife and mother sitting in the front row. Very sad for them to go from that to this in such a short time.

Not to sound morbid, but I wonder if he sensed his time may have been coming and THAT'S why he suddenly mended fences with Vince. Maybe it wasn't so much that he forgave the stuff the old man has pulled, but maybe it was a business decision to secure provisions for his family.

If the latter is indeed the case, I've got to tip my hat to him. It was a very smart move that will substantially help his family now that he's gone.

I can remember going to a live event in 1990, at Hamilton's Copps Colesium.

the main even was Warrior and Texas Tornado vs. Mr. Perfect and Ravishing Rick Rude.

all members of this match are now gone.. :'(
