WWE Hell in A Cell Picks (2019)
« on: October 06, 2019, 06:16:59 PM »
Still bummed after my team (TB) lost. So this will be a quickie.

WWE Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. They've made a lot of hey out of Wyatt 2.0. But, Creepy Clown won't get it done tonight. Rollins retains.

WWE Raw Women's Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks. Muscle and Fitness' latest cover-girl is still being pushed to the moon. She'll retain...barely.

Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan vs. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. I don't know why Harper and Rowan aren't the "Bludgeon Brothers" again. But, since Reigns jobbed to Rowan at Clash of Champions, I think he gets even tonight. Reigns and Bryan go over.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (c) vs. Kabuki Warriors. Did Asuka pee in the McMahon's corn flakes or try to sleep with Helmsley? Until two weeks before 'Mania, she was on top of the world, as Smackdown Women's champion. She even beat Lynch by submission at the Royal Rumble. Since then she got pre-showed in the worthless women's battle royal and had jobbed to the Iiconics and others ad nauseum. Nothing changes here. Cross and Bliss retain.

"Instead of winning the title to entrench himself as WWE’s most fear man or losing in a twist to the incredibly strongly-booked Rollins, there was no winner.

That’s right. For the second straight year, the Hell in a Cell main event for the Universal Title had a non-finish. Except this time, it was even worse, as there was a disqualification. In a match where DQs are meant to never happen. Because of a sledgehammer.

As a copout to get “The Fiend” on SmackDown? Maybe. A finish that the fans hated? Absolutely.

Twitter had a meltdown, as Wrestling Twitter is known to do in these situations.

It’s worth noting that the fans in the arena were just as upset."

Not good for WWE ...

Not good for WWE ...

You could pass that off as the ref deeming that Wyatt couldn't continue and awarding the match to Rollins. But, there was no ring announcement.

Not to mention that, for the first time in WWE history, we had a joint PPV in which the WWE Champion WAS NOWHERE IN SIGHT.

It's bad enough having Kingston job to Lesnar in 5 seconds. But, this goes beyond absurd. If anything, they should have had Mysterio and Velasquez cost Lesnar the match on Smackdown and had Kingston defend the title against someone else. Lesnar does NOT need to be champion to hype his matchup with Velasquez.

Half these matches were "impromptu", as in not advertised in advance. And now they've reduced Asuka to having to do the stereotypical "green mist" routine to win matches, after booking her as almost invincible for nearly two years.
