Title: After many years, it's my turn. Chime in on this one gh15 lol.
Post by: BobbyObrad on October 12, 2010, 11:21:37 PM
So, after many years of sitting back and watching everyone get roasted for their pictures they post, I figured it's my turn.  I think I owe it to myself and to the board haha.  Although I did laugh along, I always did respect that people posted their actual pictures.  Regardless if they had a physique of an 8 year old boy :).  I see it as this, I will be competing this April and I might as well do it now and have people get it out of their systems! haha  8)... No need for any disclaimers, I am very aware of what can happen, as I've been around for a while watching.  If by any chance someone has positive feedback that would be awesome, if not, it's all good I'm a good sport about it!  I will laugh along with you fellas. Small legs, small calves, gyno, whatever you fire at me... etc. lol.  As for gh15 "God of Hormones" let's test your knowledge.  Given the pictures what is my ethnic backround, supplement usage, and deodorant preference? lol...I gotta hear this.  I respect ya guys, and laugh along.  Fire away fellas!

You have a solid build man, you should be proud.

Sure I could point out a bunch of your flaws, but the reality is that you are more muscular and look better than 98% of the population.

That being said you have a lot of work to do before you are ready for competition, your wiast is very wide and you need to bring the chest (especially upper chest) and traps up, to match your arms.

Good luck man.  Keep working hard and be proud of what you have built...oh and lose the metrosexual mohawk!

well good job on posting your pics, its allot more than most will do here, the only thing i have to say it just at least try and find your way to a squat rack, then things should be looking better, especially if you say you want to compete

Hey Nomad,

I appreciate the positive feedback!  That's awesome.  Definitely upper chest needs a lot of work, Traps have been growing lately.  I stopped training them for a few weeks and it caught up with me lol.  Those pics were about 3 weeks ago, improvements are coming along.  I agree with the waist, hopefully it will come down a lot when I diet for the show.  First one so I'm gunna wing it a little.  And as always legs are an on going project. lol...   And as for the Mohawk it was cut 2 days after those pictures were taken...got over it and manager had a fit..Thanks again man, means a lot...cause I have put a lot of hard work into it.. it's always good to get another persons point of view.

Haha, agreed man.  Believe it or not I live under the squat racks and calf machines lol.  I'm trying to mix the workouts up a lot.  Dam legs are stubborn.  I will admit, I was a late starter on training legs.  When I was 18 or 19 I was the arms, chest, back, shoulders guy that we all have in our gym. lol.  If you guy's have any advice in that area feel free to let me know.  My legs are crazy strong, but just dont portray it lol, however that doesn't matter in bodybuilding  :P

Try widowmakers. Get a weight that you can squat for ten reps, then make 20 with it, done AFTER your normal squat workout. It doesn't matter how long it takes, just finish the 20 reps.

They will kill you, but they make your legs grow.

Don't know why I havn't tried that yet! lol.  Do you mean use that as my last set after my squat workout? Or all the sets during squats?

well bro, once you get past your dilutions your body will start responding. dont worry about how "crazy strong" your legs are and actually try and train them. i say 3 sets of 20 on squats, with a weight you can actually move more than 2 inches with, and you should make some gains. then move over to hacks squats for 3 more sets of 20, again with a weight you can actually handle. them move onto stiff legged deads, and then either seated or lying leg curls, if you dont know what stiff legged deads are you can google it and find a tutorial on it somehwere. same with squats, just google the word squats, they will have pictures

same with calves

Haha, there's the getbig humor... waiting for that sooner or later.  I'll try your advice bud.  At this point i'll do whatever it takes for them to grow.  And I could really honestly careless how strong my legs were as long as they grow.  8)

Just up your dosis, trenbolona, masterona, equipona, you know.

You keep forgetting the testosterona. Remember what god said: no legit HG testosterona is like the band Journey without Steve Perry.

Every night you should say your prayers and read a passage from the gh15 bible and then inject 4ius red top HGH and you will have sweet dreams of banging americana whores.

Haha I agree fellas, I'm just as appalled about my calves as you are lol..all I can say is that I try my ass off to make them grow...I won't pull the Quincy Taylor excuse and say I'm 6'4 its harder...but let's just say if I was 5'8 I wouldn't have as bad of legs and calves. I think I'm gunna resort to cutting the pant legs off of my pants.  :P....I like the supplement predictions too. Any leg training advice send it my way, I'm always trying new things to see what works for me

Hmm. Try one-legged calve raises. For example, do as many as you can (with good form) on your right, then immediately switch to your left, etc. until you're down to alternating six reps, or so. Then, with the calves nicely exhausted, go do some two-legged stuff. Do this for a few months, and you'll either see a nice improvement, or it was just not meant to be.

Add: Also try a second calve WO 3/4 days later just doing the one-legged stuff. That'll help get your reps up there.

If you ever did decide to go full steam ahead, I would make a guesstimate that you could be within the top 10 - 20% of the world's top bodybuilders.

Strong statement but I think I'm pretty accurate.

Hmm. I think there are few things he can do, tho. He'll probably never be in Vince Taylor's class - that's a given - but he can bring them up a bit in size, and they will look like he trains them, if he's given to vascularity.

I think this our Plus' thread. Some good points/hints/tips in here.

Brings back ambivalent fond memories. For some reason, already in my mid thirties, I became obsessed with calves. For almost two years my life practically revolved around them. In all fairness though I have to admit, something I didn't do at the time, that I did suffer a tear on one of my calves which accounts for the "peak". I don't even train them seriously anymore. I just do some one leg raises just to warm up because I still stretch them a lot. I have heel spurs on both feet and if I don't stretch regularly then they start to act up. Calves are definitely a muscle unlike any other. It's a bitch to get but once you have them it doesn't seem to go away. They don't seem to grow or shrink with body weight. In the first pic, when I first posted the thread on IronAge about calf training I was around 195 lbs. On the second pic, taken last year, I weighed 183 lbs.

Hmm. I think there are few things he can do, tho. He'll probably never be in Vince Taylor's class - that's a given - but he can bring them up a bit in size, and they will look like he trains them, if he's given to vascularity.

I have decent calf vascularity...ill listen to ya whenever you wanna shoot me some advice. specially calf advice!

The crazy part bro is I do...lol believe it or not. 3 times a week. Horrible response tho lol...I've tried liftin heavy, high reps, super sets, giant sets...it runs in my family, you should have seen my grandpas calves...now I know where I get them from. I wish they could be like my shoulders and just respond well to barely nothing, but it ain't in my cards. Lol

Still lots of time!

I think there's still room for improvement, and once you go to a lower bf level, things will look completely different.

What mod screwed with my post? I quoted Chimps and someone changed the wording.

Original quote from dr. chimps:

Add Add: Check out this thread: http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=156877.0 (http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=156877.0)

I think this our Pellius' thread. Some good points/hints/tips in here.

Then for some reason it was changed to this:

Brutal ILS and one pec looking non-existant.

True Adonis-like leg mass.

Professional black bodybuilder like calves.

Not to mention Outed for stripping to your undies and posing on a public beach and having the desire to shave yourself bald, get oiled up and let old men judge your looks for the chance to win a plastic trophy.

split your leg training up, Do hamstrings the day you do your quads specifically, Quad training stretches the hamstring muscle differently to leg curls etc, just be sure to warm up before you do heavy presses and squats

When doing quads pre exhaust the lower quad first, do leg extensions then leg press and finish with smith squats,

This type of workout works well with tall man mechanics. first up regular squats are for shorter guys

Calf wise your flucked, unless you get some site oil not synthol just gear in there like the black dudes with high calves, make sure you do a lot of stretching a few days after you start shooting them, do one at a time especially at the start as you can limp on the other leg, they will get sore as, dont shoot prop first up  shit works but only to a point, so dont go over board or your muscles will fail and they will end up looking shit like wheelers did, the secret is to get it in deep like big Ron, just dont hit any nerves or they will shrink to smaller than even now.  ;D

Haha that's awesome.  You live up to your name, I respect that! Thanks dude... I will take your advice for the leg training man.  See where I can take these dam quads.  You think pre-exhausting will get them to grow?  Should I still lift heavy or do more quality controlled reps?

Listen to some of the board experts. Your forearms are huge which shows you must train hard, heavy and fairly strictly. Your lack of triceps might mean you aren't doing the right exercise to isolate them. Recommend lying extensions with upper arms fixed on a pad. Your pecs are very large. Your legs are below your upper body. It remains to be seen if you can bring them up a lot.

I definitely need to work on the girth of my triceps, I have some pretty dam good split and definition.  But i'm totally lacking the thickness of the tricep.  I had to stop training the tricep heavy cause I had a little slight tear in one.  Went waaaay too heavy on skull crushers. lol...Close grip bench press good for thickness ya?

Same as on-season, lol.

You have to work abs, especially the core muscles. Helps a lot with squats and deadlifts. If you have a plateau with Squats, try to work your core more, it might help.
