It boggles the mind that someone would pay to have that done to them. The ' artwork ' sucks looks like someone was practicing on him

I am 1/2 cover in ink. I would have stopped it when I saw the stencil. I research any artist that works on me on the net and check out their portfolio at the shop. What a God awful design.

Getting a good design from what you want is all on the artist. Unless you are one to go to a shop, point to a piece of flash on the wall and say "I want that on me". That artist should have taken Lee's design or thoughts and make something beautiful and artistic out of it. I would bet Lee just went in and said I want this, this and this and the artist drew it up.

Top one is not bad. Line work us inconsistent. Goes thick to thin in several places. Bottom one, not a fan of. The tear away tattoos are so over done. You take a design and only show little pieces of it. It appears this one is under the scab phase. If not the artist actually did tear his skin up.

Superman looks like Justin Timberlake. I really hope that it was a free tattoo from a super fan or something. It's an ugly tattoo and to think he may of paid real money for it just compounds the injury. Ooh fah :(.

Pretty accurate assessment , when lee lived in Austin awhile back I used to see him in north Austin golds , I was going to school at Texas. He's a nice guy, very shy, but seems something was off... I don't know him personally but I wouldn't put it past what you posted as to why he is the way he is. After all it's bbing ;D

If your going to get a permanent mark on you at least make it art and not some ghetto trash nightmare..

Gotta agree with this. There is some beautiful art out there in terms of tattoos.
I always thought Lee had a great physique - I can understand the tattoos if he's retiring, but it seems he's still competing - and that's not so easy to understand.
And he his new Superman is a bit scrawny for Superman....

Lee seems pretty normal when you listen to him but one thing is for absolute sure - he has absolutely no idea what the fuck he's doing when it comes to looking at art.
Sadly, this fact is now conveniently buried under a deluge of random hate he gets that dilutes the only real issue with what he's doing.
I really can't believe how he can't see that he work he is getting done isn't up to scratch. Are people who get tribal tattoos (and default back to it far too often) oblivious to this?
I suppose the one thing in favour of what he is doing is that it would cost several times more to get a better tattoo :-\
If he knows they are not the best tattoos, fair enough. I would love to hear his opinion on this. If he says, "yes I know they are not the best - fucking mind your own business", then fine. If he thinks that what he is getting is a work of art - that's different.

In my opinion, this is the best work he has. It's nothing amazing but done okay - the line work is fine and the shading is decent.
