Fucking Drawf.  Running below opponents knee caps makes it hard to tract him.  Won't do jack in the WC.  Last WC scored 0 goals.  Liga is BS and fitnesse, Bar and Real Madrid would be 3rd and 4th best teams in England with defenders like Sol Campbell mugging him weekly.  Everyone who knows football knows Liga is a 2 team league.

The only thing good about Argentina is late night dinner and midnight tango, and Gaby.

I give the edge to Ronaldo as he doesn't play for Barcelona..

Ronaldo will be good anywhere he plays..

If leonel messi played at Stoke county would he still be considered the best..? I doubt it

Also the whole Barca team is doping...Josep Guardiola has tested positive for Nandrolone before..Messi used HGH...

Look at the Juventus team was blood doping way before anyone else..not inconceivable that Barca isn't

Uefa also favors Barca, and they get favorable treatment.

Ronaldo is also the better bodybuilder...Thread closed

Barca best players  Messi ,Iniesta and Xavi are 5'7  145lbs,  Iniesta and Xavi are not very athletic,  the key is that  they have been playing together since they were 12 years old.

Real Madrid change 10 players every season so they never develop that chemistry...

Sorry but cristiano is a choker of the highest degree when it comes to the big occasions. He's proved it time and time again.

Yes, Messi did use HGH. It was the reason he signed for Barca in the first place. Growth hormone therapy due to teh fact he was such a small kid. I wonder how freaking small he'd have been without that treatment!

I like Barca and Real. But i think the Real job is too big for moaning mourinho. He can't handle the fact there's a team so much better than his and it's bringing down the club.

I'm not sure about all of this. Ronaldo has won the champions league already for one thing. If he had Xavi and Iniesta feeding him through balls who knows what more he'd achieve. Messi himself choked in the world cup without their service.

I'm also not sure Mourinho can't handle it, as it's all just part of his strategy to piss everyone off. It worked at Chelsea and Inter. It took him two seasons with Inter to beat Barca, but he did it. He's only had one with Real so far, but he's already done exponentially better than the last few guys at Real. If it's too big a job for two time champions league victor Mourinho then who do you think SHOULD get the job? And would that new person be able to beat Barca? No.

i think it was summed up earlier, as a group of the best players in the world have been playing together since they were kids,,, your never going to beat that

man utd had that with there old crop of players, beckham, butt, scholes, giggs, the nevilles.. and you cant touch that kind of knowledge of each other

and the prem kills the spanish league for depth all day long, as had been said, its a two horse  race each year, look at the prem, altho its been dominated by man u since its inception, youve had a whole host of clubs on the heals, from leeds, blackburn, newcastle, arsenal, chellsea and man city

as for the final, any team can be beat on the day..if it were played over legs barca would easily win

How has he done exponentially better than the last few managers at real? Pellegrini would have set a points total record or some shit in the league if it wasn't for Barca.

Ronaldo is clearly not capable of the multi dimensional play that Messi brings to the table, his passing/dribbling game falls way behind.

Another factor is that this Madrid team has had more spent on it than just about any toher in history, they should be slightly better than having to camp in their own half at home against their biggest rivals without even trying to play football. It says a lot about his philosophy as a manager and his inability to create top attacking/flair teams.

Mourinho is succesfull, but he can be hugely negative. Failed experiment so far.
Title: Re: Best in the world
Post by: Immortal_Technique on May 07, 2011, 12:23:16 PM
Yeah I guess, but a big part of getting Mourinho on board was that Real hadn't got past the second round of the champions league for a while, and Mourinho#s achieved it straight away. Out of those four recent games with Barca they drew 2 and won one also, including their cup. Sure they would prefer the CL semi though yeah.

Sure they can't match Barca in the league, but to condemn someone for not being able to beat possibly the best team of all time is a tad harsh. And being negative paid off last year for Inter.

I agree though the anti-football approach is hella lame, and maybe Milito did manage to score for Mourinho against Barca where Ronaldo didn't. But I can't help but think Ronaldo in the Barca side would be friggin terrifying. He disappeared in the first leg against Barca because he's got 10 inferior guys in his team to work with. Messi's got like the other 10 best guys on earth who can read each other's minds.

I agree also with the person who said the once-in-a-generation relationship between Barca players is priceless, like Man United with Neville, Giggs, Beckham etc, so Madrid could probably spend 1000000000 more moneys and still be nowhere near as good. Allowing Mourinho time to build his squad his way and work with them and cultivate them would be a step in the right direction though. Barca didn;t get where they are by firing everyone each year. Ferguson won jack shit for a couple of years when he started with his brief to overturn Liverpool's supremacy.

It was to show that Ronaldo is going to win the coveted European golden shoe award. that's all..

Oh ya, and he's faster than Messi according to a very scientific German study.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?...No, it's Cristiano Ronaldo." The Portuguese flyer is the fastest elite player in world football according to a study conducted by the weekly German magazine Der Spiegel.

The study indicates that, in his boots, Cristiano Ronaldo is the fastest elite player in the world, reaching an average speed of 33.6 kilometres per hour (20.88 mph), a quality he uses to full effect by blowing past defenders.

According to the study, Ronaldo supercedes Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben (32.9 kph), Arsenal's Theo Walcott (32.7 kph), Manchester United's Wayne Rooney (32.6 kph) and Arsenal's Robin Van Persie (32.1 kph). Barcelona's Balon d'Or winner Lionel Messi did not rate amongst the top five fastest players.

CR9's blazing pace has already been well documented, former coach Sir Alex Ferguson having claimed that "Ronaldo is just as fast with the ball as he is without it... maybe even faster".

Should he train with his good friend and multi world-record holding sprinter Usain Bolt, Cristiano could soon further increase his speed as he has expressed interest in working with the Jamaican and has already received advice from the sprinter with respect to efficiently using one's centre of gravity.

He's quicker than Messi. Well at least he can sleep knowing he's better than the little guy in one parameter.

Speed ain't so important when you've got teh skill and control that Messi does. Check out the one and only Zinedine Zidane. Far from the fastest player even in his prime, but look how much that mattered to him.

Cristiano has a great reputation as regularly being one of the hardest training players at the clubs he's been at. I respect him for that. As soon as he can get his psychological aspect of his game in the same place as his physical, he'll still be number two to Messi, but he'll be a far better player.

On a side note, in the pub one day watching cristiano play (don't recall if it was for Man U, Portugal, or Real) one of the lads pipes up in reference to him "he's got a body to die for". All homo, and he still get's flamed for it whenever possible.

messi wouldn't have a prayer of scoring anywhere near 50 goals in the prem

Ofcourse the premier league is the best, owned by foreigner investors, premier league has more absolute topclubs than spanish,

united
chelsea
arsenal
liverpool

2 more than spain, thats the only difference, clubs like tottenham aint better than lets say valencia, and a club like blackburn rovers aint better than athletico madrid, weaker league yes but not the same as scotland come on.

If Messi played for united he would weekly make hattricks against teams like blackpool so will easily make 40 goals a season.
If barcelona played in the premier league they would be first place with a huge gap with 3rd place, that would resemble the scottish league.

barca is a little tired, i think united has a good chance in the final, excellent squad

Don't forget the game is at Wembley in London...I think that may be a factor, and with Fletcher back to shackle Messi, i think that United have a very good chance of winning.

I really don't fancy Fletcher's chances!
Could be a good game though. Both teams coming off league wins, pretty much at the top of their games.

Best thing UEFA have ever done is change the Champions league final from a Wednesday to a Saturday. Far more convenient for a day on the beer.

This ^ x 100

Don't think Fletcher will play, he is not ready after injury and an entire season of disappointing performances. He would have to be fit AND be at his best right away, just can't see it happening

Vds

Fabio - Rio - Vidic - Evra
Valencia - Giggs - Carrick - Park
Rooney - Chicharito

I think that is how we'll line up against them.

Van der Sar better be on the list
