A guy like Arnold or Lou or "big guys" of that time wouldn't do well today because too much emphasis is put in size and thickness. When you have guys like Kai at 5'8 255-260, tall guys like at 6'1+ have to compete at 280 to look as thick as shorter guys (Which is why McMillian won't be a real competitive for the O title till he gets even bigger and dryer). When these big guys do that they lose their lines but you don't have much of a choice and tall guys look their best at a lighter weight (as do most pros at their best). Some freaks can pull it off like Dillett but he had no back and couldn't pose and Wolf although his calves and lower back take away from his physique. Point is IF a tall guy can have all his bodypart there come in Olympia condition and not lose his lines to be as dense as the shorter guys, hell win everytime only thing is, no one has done this since Arnold. lol.
Joel Stubs had leg injuries at 6'4, Ed Nunn doesn't seem to be getting bigger but he's 40+ I believe, Toney Freeman had a good chance but his conditioning was hit or miss and as big as he was, he doesn't have the density of Jay, Kai or Phil. Gunter was good in his prime. If his waist was a little more narrow and Ronnie wasn't competing he'd probably take it. So there is a formula for it but for big guys it's much more difficult.
