1) One arm DB rows...2 sets elbows back, 2 sets elbows out and wide...6-8 reps

2)  One arm DB Hi-pulls  3 sets...6-8 reps

3)  Chins, middle hammer grip  3 sets...6-8 reps

4)  Chins,  one arm negatives, hold at top position for a count of 5, than control & lower as slow as possible... alternate 2 times each arm  (a rock climber showed me this years ago..believe me rock climbers are great atheles)

That's pretty cool.  I'd probaly use a neutral grip for fear of tearing a bicep.

You pretty much have to use a negative (talking Hammer style) grip on a overhead bar. The body must be allowed to twist some as its being lowered. That's the natural function of the wrist/elbow/ and bicep, they all work together, allowing a twist. Works very well with gymnastic rings, which I use. Gripping a ring may take some getting use to, for a few guy's. Helps develop the grip also.

Can use a overhead cable, with a turning handle, for regular one arm pulldowns or negative holds/lowerings. Develops strength and affects the lats greatly. Lot of women prefer this method over regular chins. Good Luck

Finished one week of 5/3/1.   Using CG bench because of shoulder, and box squat because I like it and train alone.  Tried DL, but pulled trap apparently is still there.  Oops.

Today was box squats

Aux:  box step up, sandbag plyo jumps

Conditioning tomorrow.

Have assembled a good Team for this and we will push each other through it.  Also need to make sure I have proper gear for the cold.   Plus - we are probably going to get wet too  - so that is a another element of the Suck

Hell yeah - I have to go all out for this next 6 weeks or so.  A lot more details.  Approaching this like a Bodybuilding show - only w 6-7 weeks to prepare - have to get every detail right to survive this shit.

They said be prepared for 26 hours or so and 40-50 miles.  Also sucks that most of the time we will be in the dark and cold.
