Ronnie '98 would butcher any version of Phil (except for the gyno). Past 2003 Ronnie was a hodgepodge with poor conditioning so I could see Phil beating him although you could fit 3 Phils in Ronnie's frame.

I think this BDB is closer than most of you are willing to admit. Strictly going by the photo, Phil's back looks a little more detailed, might even have the edge.

Since the picture has them at the same height/size Phil looks comparable but with height/size adjusted to real life, Ronnie wins.

The only thing that comes close to a prime Ronnie is a prime Dorian and even that isn't close either. Ronnie was a freak of nature. It boggles the mind that people debate this.

To be honest I've always liked Dorian FLS more than Ronnies. I think it's just a posing thing with Ronnie. He never was that great of a poser but he had so much muscle it didn't matter what he did. People were just in awe.

There was this girl I worked with that obviously knew I lifted a lot.

Ronnie looked really good at the 96 Olympia. To me that physque he presented then was closer to beating Dorian than Shawn or Kevins at the time.
This little clip is the closest you see of them on stage together posing like that to their primes. with Ronnie peaking in terms of overall look in 99 and Dorian in 93 and 95 and 96. Dorian was done by 97. I won't disgrace him by using that year.

Fuckin'A, Hulkster, you should really try to get Ronnie's cock out of your mouth for a second. Your brain would maybe get a much-needed dose of oxygen and you'd regain a part of your senses. Difference in quality in those pics + the fact they are not taken from the same distance make your comparison foolish. This is a FRONT LAT SPREAD. I'm not a Dorian fan but Dorian kills them as far as the lat spread. Ronnie is not hitting the pose right. Even his pecs (sure, at this distance you can see the striations, Bozo, but can 't see them on Dorian 'cause the pic is takeN from almost outside the room) are poorly presented here. He has just arms and delts over Dorian, midsection is Dorian's here, Dorian quads actually look better (once again because he hits the pose better) and Dorian has him easily on the calves.

There is 1 good BDB pic of Phil. That pic is edited to the best quality, and his stance/body angle is ideal. Please don't compare it to Coleman. The scale is totally wrong; Ronnie is leaning forward, and the lightning blurs his with (as opposed to the lightninh in Phils case)
One thing not many mention is that Phil does not look very good in many of the mandatories.
FDB: Descent. Great arms, but in this pose you really see that the arms do not stand out compared to many other bodybuilders. A part from the amrs, this pose is not very good for Phil, especially if he stands on the line...
FLS: Hundreds of bodybuilders beat Phile here. No torso... Narrow/short chest
SC: Descent, nothing special. Many contemporaries just as good if not better
Abs and thighs: Not a good pose for Phil.
ST: Very good
BDB: Very good but not extraordinary. Lack og size
BLS: Not a good pose at all
Front relaxed: Descent, but nothing special (ecpecially if on the line....)
The bottom line: If you assess the other greats like Haney, Ronnie, Yates...they all are among the all-time best in many of the mandatories. Phil is not close to an all-time best in any of the mandatories (perhaps except the side triceps, but that is not the most significant pose...)

A last word. Don't forget that the pics of pros today - like Phil - are doctored color- and contrastwise - that really makes a significant impact. Most of the pics of Ronnie (and certainly Yates....Haney etc) are not altered to such an extent (except for a few in the truce tread...).

Ok ND, master of all that is Dorian, then Phil would smoke many versions of your precious Dorian. On Dorian 1993 and maybe 2005 would be comparable. Phil has better hamstrings and glutes. His detail and thickness are superior to all versions of Dorian except 1993 version. The 1994, 1996, and 1997 were jokes. If Dorian faced any of the greats of the era in that condition is ass and one armed self would get smoked. As I have always said, 1993 DY is top two or three ever. Better than 1995 as he had two good arms. Symmetry is important and sorry but after 1994 when he fuked up his bicep his symmetry was shit. His gut got out of control and his thighs lost their striations. If Dorian had only an average back he wouldn't even be top five at that time. Sorry, but the fact is a fact. From the front, he was average at best.
