There are more lady lifters today than ever before.  Many started training as far back as the 50s and 60s.  At Zuver's Gym in the 60s and 70s Jean Zuver along with Big Bob Zuver started training the local ladies to lift.  Ladies night was always packed.
Here are a few shots of Ladies Night.

it's called sarcasm sheldon.

I'm a powerlifter and the great argument is always depth in the squat, of course no one knows if she was still going down or coming up. it is funny to me though that people will argue over a picture, so I sarcastically posted she was high.... which others would argue that you can't call depth from the front...

good to hear. squat is esp noteworthy when you consider that back in the old days only paul anderson was handling over 700 lbs in the squat.

he did sets of 10 with 700. coulda had the deadlift record but his best friend had it so paul would never break it.

that i did not know, paul boxed, wrestled, olympic lifted, powerlifted, and from what i heard he was an all around good guy. i believe the paul anderson youth home is still in operation.

from what i understand he would drink a gallon of milk every day while he worked out.

It wasn't only when he trained that he loved Milk.
He Drank it instead of water all the time. He would send his mother out to get him more when he ran out.
He also didn't drink a glass of milk it was always a quart or half gallon.
When you looked at Paul you could truly say.
GOT MILK.

What is the source for this info, please?

Peoples weighed 175- 180. Paul on occasion weighed twice that, so pound for pound Peoples was superior in the deadlift. Plus Bob used the narrow stance.
