2.6 ghz quad core amd phenom
4g ram
1 g graphics.

works for whatever stuff i use it for and as long as it does i feel no need to upgrade. the mother board supports quite higher upgrades so when i need i'll just get a new processor, 4 gig more ram and bridge another 1 g graphics card. will be cheap as shit when the next gen processors and graphics cards commes out.

Actually if im not mistaken t5500s can support alot of memory. I don't know how much exactly but we use them at work for developers all the time. I think the t7500s are the ones we issue out with tons of memory.

PC's are becoming more and more obsolete. I'd say the tablets are taking over as they're more convenient, and is pretty much a desktop/laptop in one.

There are 3 types of fanboys.

1- The guy that really need a mac.
2- The guy that has a mac just because " oh!! it looks so beautiful"
3- The guy that does not know how to do the maintenance.

The number of viruses on macs has increase a lot... 2 months ago Apple release an update to protect their "cat" 8 hours later the "cat" was in danger...again.

Cat sucks... get a dog.

One more thing people pay tons of money for an mac... that shit does not play/burn blu-ray. wtf?

Btw: A Hackintosh running lion... it has more power than a Mac Pro.

Again Pc rules.

Yes, I've had that for almost 4-5 years now. I will probably place each card in a cheap rig and use for rendering or something. Or sell them off. Right now I am not playing too many games though I think this will handle Crysis 2 without a problem. Not the fastest frame rates put playable. GFX tech changes so fast I will get another card in a year or two. That is if we survive 2012

Macs are the quickest to hack at those hacker conferences. They fall real fast. As Macs become more popular you will see more viruses on that platform.

Fun fact for you guys:

A number of years back Microsoft placed the single biggest order ever for Apple computers (we're talking thousands). They needed it to develop certain components for the Xbox which just couldn't be done on a PC.

This was confirmed by both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs during an interview they conducted together, look it up on youtube its quite interesting!

haha people play into the whole marketing bs with apple. there quality has gone down as their popularity has gone up, so if you are buying now, you are getting crappy quality compared to what they use to produce. also yes they can get viruses, just not enough market share for people writing code to target macs as of now.

Yes they fucking do - thats the one thing I don't like about my Sony Vaio.

My older HP (Also a 17" but Core 2 Duo) - was waaaaay quieter

But whatever the Vaio was a birthday gift from the Pops!
