"West Wing" prophecy...
« on: March 27, 2008, 10:00:41 AM »
Anyone here watch the last season of the West Wing television show?

It featured the Presidential race to replace Bartlett. The Republican candidate played by Alan Alda was a moderate independent Republican who won his nomination over the conservatives in his party against all odds fairly early, and he played to the center to attract crossover voters.  The Democrats has a contentious primary that went all the way to the convention, and the eventual nominee was a minority congressman (played by Jimmy Smits) who no one had really heard of before the election.

Scary, isn't it?  Life imitates art, or someone is scripting this crap.  :-\

Yep.  He was ordered to walk out to the nomination crowd and endorse the VP from his party as the candidate, who was a bag of shit.  He stood in front of the crowd and said he couldn't do that.  That he loved the country too much to settle for mediocrity, etc etc.  he got the nod.

That show had some boring ass side stories, but it was overall pretty good.  Sad to see it cancelled.
