Title: Eating like a "normal" person
Post by: animal1991 on August 02, 2012, 10:55:21 PM
Okay, so for all you guys who always say you eat like a "normal" person and are leaner and fuller then when eating a typical bodybuilding diet, why do you this?

What does your average diet day consist of?

Currently I'm eating 5-6 meals a day all containing about 30-40g protein? Too much in your opinion?

Would you say cutting back to 3 "clean" meals a day with a good amount of protein and a bit of carbs is the way to go to stay lean and have enough energy for the day?

Eg:
Breakfast:
4 Eggs
50-60g Oats

Lunch:
1 Can Tuna
2 Apples

Dinner:
5-6 Eggs / 200g Steak / 200g Chicken
Maybe some carbs (rice/potato)
Veggies

Ok, but then you are not normal. You can't eat like a normal person and eat healthy at the same time. Thats just the way it is.

Pull your head out of the sand. Its not normal to be healthy.

Do you want to eat healthy or do you want to be normal. I prefer to be normal.

Yes I know, its not a lot of calories. But I enjoy to eat it, its filling and makes me feel good. What would you rather recommend then?

And remember I still want to lose fat, so that's why I keep the calories low

G_thang's inability to hold down meat is party due to his large consumption of human meat i.e. daily cock sucking, and party due to his childhood conditioning which consisted of kool-aid, grape drink, and cheese pizza. They didn't have enough money to load on KFC chicken buckets.

Meal 1 - milk + protein shake = 274cals, 33p, 14c, 9f

meal 2 - tomato and basil chicken with potato wedges = 386cals, 32p, 38c, 12f

cardio = 30mins @ 50% VO2max / 128-135 bpm - which studies show is where my peak fat oxidation occurs. This worked out at around 95 rpm on the bike.

snack - coffee + chunky kitkat + 2 finger kitkat = 435cals, 7p, 49c, 23f

meal 3 - turkey fajitas and mexican rice = 423cals, 41p, 47c, 9f

meal 4 - lamb rogan josh = 486cals, 40p, 20c, 28f

daily totals = 2012cals, 153p, 168c, 80f
ratios = 30/31/36

How would you set up a "normal" eating plan then? With semi-healthy food?
breakfast:
A "bb" breakfast..
3 eggwhites- 5 whole eggs (omellet)
oats, maybe a fruit.

lunch:
Eat whatever your mother/gf cooks.

dinner:
eggwhites and yolks or something else maybe some beef, cottage cheese etc (try to keep the last meal light)

in between you can have some chocolate, coffee, sweets, drinks, snacks...etc.

looks pretty normal to me. You can have your breakfast and last meal "bbing related" because youre actually at your home. during the day and lunch have whatever you want..not too dirty not too clean, keep a balance and measure portions by the eye..

And the most important, TRAIN or you will look like a normal person.

good luck.

LOL at these diets. Normal people (who have jobs and perhaps their own family) don't have time to prepare and cook food 6 times a day.
Here is a normal meal plan:

Breakfast:
- 2 fried eggs (sunny side up)
- 1 yogurt
- 4 slices of bread (ham, cheese or peanut butter)
- Glass of milk
- 1 - 2 bananas
- cup of nuts (peanuts or cashew)
- 2-3 glass of orange juice

Lunch:
- Subway 1 foot (with cheese)
- Biscuits
- 1 small mars bar

Mid-day:
- Protein shake
- peanuts
- tea (with two cubes of sugar)

Dinner:
- take-away pizza
      or
- 3-400gm steak or pork chops, potatoes and veggies
- icecream or pudding

Supper:
- Protein shake
- Cookies
- Orange juice
- Apples

Normal people don't normally drink protein shakes!

Also, a lot of normal people skip meals, so we're talking like 2 unhealthy meals a day or some shit!

So far all I'm seeing in this thread is healthy (for the most part) moderate eating.  But I wouldn't really classify that as "Eating like a normal person"

If we're talking "normal" in terms of diet of the average American then normal is like coffee for breakfast, cheese burger for lunch, microwave something made in a factory for dinner, then another 500-ish empty calories while watching Dharma & Greg before bed.

add dextrose and your other 4 ingredients at a ratio commensurate with your target body weight.

someone hasn't been reading up on their principles.

if the aforementioned isolation movement is strategically positioned so that it precedes the heavy compound movement, IE, a pre-exhaust set (not to be confused with the arbitrary "superset" term thrown around so thoughtlessly), then it depends.  HTH.

i am really bored of these "cool" people claiming that everything is a scam, a myth, from high protein diets through the GI index to eating clean...
I am over 30, I trained regularly and ate like a normal person (meaning not overfeeding myself) and got fat. It was not a problem when I was 20, but things changed after 30. Then, some years ago I started eating "clean" - counting calories, very few simple carbs, chicken breast, tuna etc. and I now have the health look. Even if a calorie is a calorie (which I don't think), you simply can control the intake of sugar, trans fat etc. when eating at the workplace's canteen or at Subway. You may not need that much protein as magazines and supplement co-s say, but I am sure, eating lots of quality meat won't hurt from a muscle building perspective...

This is guy eats on average 70g to 120g of protein per day, and it's not a structured diet either. He eats whatever he wants, whenever he wants and counts calories. Also the second guy does the same thing, and third guy, and the fourth guy.

If I split my macros up for the day into 6 meals instead of 3, my strength, energy, blood glucose levels are a million times better than just 3 a day. Not a popular opinion here but I think frequent meals are important, at least for a homosexual natty

ah, really.

overrated.

maybe you overrated the intensity and focus of your training.
maybe you overrated your metabolism.

how can you say protein is overrated for bodybuilding?do you think this applies for people on steroids and gh too?

yes a natural dont need any protein beyond normal eating, but a natural isnt a bodybuilder.hes a recreational fitness lifter.

Eating what is considered normal is subjective.  Pointless to argue.

Knowing the macros of most foods allows you the feeling of being more normal.

No scales, measuring etc.  After you have been doing it so long, you know what you can eat and what your body can tolerate.

Best advice is to prepare all your own food.  Nothing pre packaged.

Amazing how much better you will eat, and it can be tasty too.

Simple.

Not trying to start another argument...

A bodybuilder is one who COMPETES and PARTICIPATES in bodybuilding competitions.

Anything else is whatever you want to call it.

How "serious"  someone is about building muscle or their physique doesn't determine a bodybuilder, technically.

Am I clear?

someone hasn't been reading up on their principles.

if the aforementioned isolation movement is strategically positioned so that it precedes the heavy compound movement, IE, a pre-exhaust set (not to be confused with the arbitrary "superset" term thrown around so thoughtlessly), then it depends.  HTH.

FUCK

so zach khan is no bodybuilder? ;D

He has competed, so yes.  Just like any other profession, if he has stopped the profession he would be considered retired. Retired bodybuilder.

Is there something wrong with that? I stopped using AAS because it was giving me unsightly acne. When i was on juice i was on average 215-225lb. Either way, i always practised muay thai, and lifting came secondary.
