I have more faith in the law than you do. Not that mistakes are not made, but I am inclined to leave these matters to the folks with law degrees. Of course there are good lawyers and bad ones.

I zero faith in the system when it becomes consumed by partisan politics, like it has with Trump.

You had faith in the Colorado Supreme Court to remove Trump from the ballot when they got reversed 9-0 in the U.S. Supreme Court?  Or the system that provided zero accountability for what happened during the Russia hoax?  We have seen a litany of abuses the past 7 or 8 years, many with little or no consequences.

Gossip & Opinions / Re: Russia has penetrated Ukraine
« Last post by obsidian on Today at 04:05:03 PM »
Up until recently, Ukraine or the media would not announce Ukrainian casualties, apparently only Russians were dying in the thousands every day. A few months ago Zelensky finally said they had 31,000 casualties. Odd then that if their casualties are so much lower than Russia, they are doing what they were accusing Russia of doing, ie. sending prisoners to the front lines or people they kidnap off the streets.
Looks like Zelensky's days may be numbered. Rumors are the three letter agency tried to assassinate him - he's underperforming. What did they expect. He was an actor, not a military genius. Medvedev already commented that they are not in the business of assassinating foreign politicians - lol yeah I get it some skeptics will say whatever he's lying. But why would Russia want him dead? The clown is good for Russia's agenda.

Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Biden's Integrity

No matter whether someone is the President, an acquaintance, friend or family, I usually give them the benefit of doubt, unless I know for certain they intended to lie.

It is amusing how some folks like to often point out that Biden is senile and therefore cannot remember what is or isn't, said or not said, done or not done. But when he lies, they cut him no slack because of his supposed senility. Old folks like me, Biden and Trump are known to be forgetful at times. We also have long, and occasionally confused memories of things passed. In my case, I think my long term memory is excellent while short term can be messed up... like when I think of something to do in another room in the house and when I get there, I cannot remember what it was. This is really frustrating.

As I have stated repeatedly, I think the we need better Presidential/political candidates than old folks and nut jobs. Is it possible no intelligent person wants to be President of the U.S.?

I don't think it's inconsistent.  Have you been around people with dementia?  It destroys their memory, but not necessarily their personality.  People who are nice remain nice.  People who are jerks can become even more so because they have no filter.  People who are congenital liars continue to lie.

Plus we have a documented lifelong history of Joe Biden lying.  So no, he's not entitled to any slack because his mind is obviously gone.

Yes it's true.  This case should have never been filed.  But when the left is infected with TDS, this is what you get.

I have more faith in the law than you do. Not that mistakes are not made, but I am inclined to leave these matters to the folks with law degrees. Of course there are good lawyers and bad ones.

I don't trust any politician.  But this is about Biden lying about inflation.  I don't use "misspeak" when I mean "lie," but if you were trying to politely say Biden was lying then ok.

No matter whether someone is the President, an acquaintance, friend or family, I usually give them the benefit of doubt, unless I know for certain they intended to lie.
