pennsylvania was a hot bed for weightlifting then powerlifting back than him and jim or james williams had a lot of heated battles.kuc was the better overall lifter though. he reduced down in later years and maybe didn't reach his full potential. that's what the smarter ones did to preserve their health.

By your own admission on here, you're from PA. Are you familiar with Isaac Nesser?
Is he still around?

Funk, you are right. I have 2 copies of that one (Todd's). (Had a 3rd, but I sold it). I have 2 copies of Ernie Frantz's book as well. (Ernie Frantz's Ten Commandments of Powerlifting).
Looks like they are asking $130.00 on Amazon for that one.

Yeah.
Last I heard, Nesser owned some kind of clothing store in rural PA. I'm not even sure if he's still alive, but I know someone whose grandfather lived out that way years ago and actually stopped in. Isaac had business cards printed up with the picture above printed on them.
I believe the cards advertised both clothing and training services.

as far as chuck ahrens goes no one knows for sure how strong he really was, steve merjian  is supposed to have trained with him but he never speaks to anyone about it. steve m was a powerhouse himself.
