I have several friends from there and they all say this, "whatever crime you heard about Brazil, it's all true and worse."

One guy told me his family house is fenced off like it's ready to hold back the zombie apocalypse. He has to call his family in advance to let them known it's him heading back home  to open the gates for fear of kidnappers all the time.
