Yes i believe so but that was directly correlated to the fact that he was more sexually attracted to minorities. In his last interviews he made it a point to say that he never hated anyone. The motivation of his murders were to create sexual zombies by drilling holes in their heads and having people submit to him and do whatever he wanted with their body's.

Yes, many of them were. Part of that (I believe) was the area he lived in - basically the hood. His grandmother's house was in a lower middle class, white, blue collar area (see victim locations). Two of his victims were children. The Konerak Sinthasomphone story was especially disturbing (not that the others weren't) and could've been prevented if it weren't for asshole cops. >:(

MILWAUKEE -- Recordings released Thursday of phone calls to police and radio traffic May 27 show officers thought a Laotian boy was the adult lover of Jeffrey Dahmer, in whose apartment the boy's remains later were found.
The tape shows the initial call to report a naked and beaten youth was made to 911 at 2 a.m.
Sandra Smith and Nicole Childress, both 18, earlier said they had seen the boy, Konerak Sinthasomphone, staggering naked outside Dahmer's apartment building, bleeding from his buttocks area. Childress said she called 911.
The tape shows:
Operator: 'Milwaukee Emergency Operator 71.'
Caller: OK. Hi, I'm at 25th and State, and there's this young man. He is buck naked. He has been beaten up. He's very bruised up. He can't stand. He's (unintelligible) fall down. He is buck naked. He has no clothes on. He is really hurt.'
The operator transferred the caller to the fire department, which dispatched an ambulance, and the operator dispatched a patrol car.
At 2:07 a.m., the recording shows another operator relayed information to police from a caller who had reported a man dragging a naked male who looked like he had been beaten.
At 2:24 a.m., police squad 36 reports it is finished at the scene.
On the tape, an officer says: 'The intoxicated Asian naked male was returned to his sober boyfriend and we're 10-8' as someone chuckles in the background.
The squad was assigned another battery complaint, to which an officer responded: '10-4. Be a minute. My partner's going to get deloused at the station.'
The term 'getting deloused' is police slang for contact with unsavory people. The officers involved were not identified.
At 2:31 a.m., the tape shows a woman calling to try to follow up on the incident and being told it was a squabble between two homosexuals. Glenda Cleveland, the mother of Sandra Smith, said earlier she was the woman who tried to find out what had happened.
The tape shows she was transferred three times before being connected with an officer who had responded to the call.NEWLN: From the tape:
Woman caller: 'There was a squad car No. 68 that was flagged down earlier this evening, about 15 minutes ago.'
Officer: 'That was me.'
Woman: 'What happened? I mean my daughter and my niece witnessed what was going on. Was anything done about the situation? Do you need the names or information or anything from them?'
Officer: 'No, not at all.'
Woman: 'You don't?'
Officer: 'No, it was an intoxicated boyfriend of another boyfriend.'
Woman: 'Well how old was this child?'
Officer: 'It wasn't a child. It was an adult.'
Woman: 'Are you sure?'
Officer: 'Yep.'
Woman: 'Are you positive? Because this child doesn't even speak English. My daughter had, you know, dealt with him before, seen him on the street, you know, catching earthworms.'
Officer: 'Yeah, no, no, he's -- it's all taken care of, ma'am.'
Woman: 'Are you sure?'
Officer: 'Ma'am, I can't make it any more clear. It's all taken care of. He's with his boyfriend in his boyfriend's apartment, where he's got his belongings also. I mean, that's where it's released.'
Woman: 'But I mean isn't this, I mean what if he's a child and not an adult. I mean are you positive this is an adult?'
Officer: 'Ma'am, like I explained to you, it's all taken care of. It's as positive as I can be. I can't do anything about somebody's sexual preferences in life.'
Woman: 'Well no, I'm not saying anything about that, but it appeared to be a child. This is my concern.'
Officer: 'No, he's not.'
Woman: 'He's not a child?'
Officer: 'No, he's not. OK? It's a boyfriend-boyfriend thing and he's got belongings at the house where he came from. He's got pictures of himself and his boyfriend, and so forth.'
Woman: 'Oh, I see.'
Officer: 'OK?'
Woman: 'OK, I'm just, you know, it appears to have been a child, that was my concern.
Officer: 'I understand. No, he's not.'
Woman: 'Oh, OK. Thank you.'
Dahmer got the kid into his apartment, drugged him, had intercourse with him, drilled a hole in his head, injected acid, then left to go get himself some beer. Somehow the kid woke up and was able to make it out of the building into the street where the police found him wandering around dazed and nude. To them he was just a drunk homosexual. They went back to the apartment, noticed nothing out of the ordinary, and left Konerak with Dahmer.

Officer Defends Giving Boy Back to Dahmer

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 25— A police officer suspended for returning a 14-year-old Laotian boy to Jeffrey L. Dahmer, who has since admitted killing 17 people, said he had agonized over how he might have prevented the boy's death.
"God as my witness, I just didn't dump a little boy in the hands of a murderer. That's not what happened," the officer, Joseph T. Gabrish, told The Milwaukee Journal in a story published today.
On May 27, neighbors called the police to report seeing a naked and bleeding boy run from Mr. Dahmer's apartment building. After interviewing Mr. Dahmer, Officer Gabrish and two fellow officers accepted his explanation that the youth was an adult and his lover and that the boy was drunk. The officers went with Mr. Dahmer and the boy to Mr. Dahmer's apartment. The other officers were also suspended. Incident Led to Protests
After Mr. Dahmer was arrested in July, he told the police that he strangled the boy, Konerak Sinthasomphone, soon after the officers left. He also said the body of another victim was in a bedroom during the officers' visit.
The police say Mr. Dahmer killed four more times after the brush with the officers. News of the encounter with the Laotian boy led to protests by people who said the police had missed a chance to stop Mr. Dahmer. Others accused the officers of racism and homophobia.
Mr. Dahmer was arrested after a man in handcuffs fled his apartment and alerted police. Officers later found parts of 11 men in the apartment.
Mr. Dahmer told the police he had lured the men to his apartment with the promise of sex, and then killed them. He is charged with 15 killings and has confessed to killing two other men since 1978.
Officer Gabrish, 28 years old, a patrolman for seven years, said he and the other officers believed there was a caring relationship between Mr. Dahmer and the Laotian boy and saw no reason to intervene.
"We're trained to be observant and spot things," he said. "There was just nothing that stood out, or we would have seen it. I've been doing this for a while, and usually if something stands out, you'll spot it. There just wasn't anything there."
There was no reference in the Journal article to anything the officers saw or to the smell that Mr. Dahmer has said filled the apartment because of the body in the bedroom. Officer Gabrish spoke to the newspaper with the understanding that the interview would not focus on the incident, already the subject of inquiries by the State Attorney General and the Milwaukee Police Department.
Two lawyers for the police union accompanied Officer Gabrish for the interview.
Mr. Dahmer's neighbors have maintained that the Laotian boy was not removed by the officers because Mr. Dahmer was white and the witnesses were black. The officers are white.
Officer Gabrish said he had worked in Milwaukee's inner city for most of his career, sometimes with black officers, and was shocked that he and the other officers were accused of racism and homophobia.
"I've seen some flashes on the news, people walking with signs and saying, 'These officers are racist,' " he said. "I wonder where the thousands and thousands of people from the black community are that I've helped."

MILWAUKEE -- Recordings released Thursday of phone calls to police and radio traffic May 27 show officers thought a Laotian boy was the adult lover of Jeffrey Dahmer, in whose apartment the boy's remains later were found.
The tape shows the initial call to report a naked and beaten youth was made to 911 at 2 a.m.
Sandra Smith and Nicole Childress, both 18, earlier said they had seen the boy, Konerak Sinthasomphone, staggering naked outside Dahmer's apartment building, bleeding from his buttocks area. Childress said she called 911.
The tape shows:
Operator: 'Milwaukee Emergency Operator 71.'
Caller: OK. Hi, I'm at 25th and State, and there's this young man. He is buck naked. He has been beaten up. He's very bruised up. He can't stand. He's (unintelligible) fall down. He is buck naked. He has no clothes on. He is really hurt.'
The operator transferred the caller to the fire department, which dispatched an ambulance, and the operator dispatched a patrol car.
At 2:07 a.m., the recording shows another operator relayed information to police from a caller who had reported a man dragging a naked male who looked like he had been beaten.
At 2:24 a.m., police squad 36 reports it is finished at the scene.
On the tape, an officer says: 'The intoxicated Asian naked male was returned to his sober boyfriend and we're 10-8' as someone chuckles in the background.
The squad was assigned another battery complaint, to which an officer responded: '10-4. Be a minute. My partner's going to get deloused at the station.'
The term 'getting deloused' is police slang for contact with unsavory people. The officers involved were not identified.
At 2:31 a.m., the tape shows a woman calling to try to follow up on the incident and being told it was a squabble between two homosexuals. Glenda Cleveland, the mother of Sandra Smith, said earlier she was the woman who tried to find out what had happened.
The tape shows she was transferred three times before being connected with an officer who had responded to the call.NEWLN: From the tape:
Woman caller: 'There was a squad car No. 68 that was flagged down earlier this evening, about 15 minutes ago.'
Officer: 'That was me.'
Woman: 'What happened? I mean my daughter and my niece witnessed what was going on. Was anything done about the situation? Do you need the names or information or anything from them?'

Woman: 'You don't?'
Officer: 'No, it was an intoxicated boyfriend of another boyfriend.'
Woman: 'Well how old was this child?'
Officer: 'It wasn't a child. It was an adult.'

Woman: 'Are you positive? Because this child doesn't even speak English. My daughter had, you know, dealt with him before, seen him on the street, you know, catching earthworms.'

Officer: 'Ma'am, I can't make it any more clear. It's all taken care of. He's with his boyfriend in his boyfriend's apartment, where he's got his belongings also. I mean, that's where it's released.'

Officer: 'Ma'am, like I explained to you, it's all taken care of. It's as positive as I can be. I can't do anything about somebody's sexual preferences in life.'
Woman: 'Well no, I'm not saying anything about that, but it appeared to be a child. This is my concern.'
Officer: 'No, he's not.'
Woman: 'He's not a child?'
Officer: 'No, he's not. OK? It's a boyfriend-boyfriend thing and he's got belongings at the house where he came from. He's got pictures of himself and his boyfriend, and so forth.'
Woman: 'Oh, I see.'
Officer: 'OK?'
Woman: 'OK, I'm just, you know, it appears to have been a child, that was my concern.
Officer: 'I understand. No, he's not.'
Woman: 'Oh, OK. Thank you.'
Dahmer got the kid into his apartment, drugged him, had intercourse with him, drilled a hole in his head, injected acid, then left to go get himself some beer. Somehow the kid woke up and was able to make it out of the building into the street where the police found him wandering around dazed and nude. To them he was just a drunk homosexual. They went back to the apartment, noticed nothing out of the ordinary, and left Konerak with Dahmer.

"God as my witness, I just didn't dump a little boy in the hands of a murderer. That's not what happened," the officer, Joseph T. Gabrish, told The Milwaukee Journal in a story published today.
On May 27, neighbors called the police to report seeing a naked and bleeding boy run from Mr. Dahmer's apartment building. After interviewing Mr. Dahmer, Officer Gabrish and two fellow officers accepted his explanation that the youth was an adult and his lover and that the boy was drunk. The officers went with Mr. Dahmer and the boy to Mr. Dahmer's apartment. The other officers were also suspended. Incident Led to Protests
After Mr. Dahmer was arrested in July, he told the police that he strangled the boy, Konerak Sinthasomphone, soon after the officers left. He also said the body of another victim was in a bedroom during the officers' visit.
The police say Mr. Dahmer killed four more times after the brush with the officers. News of the encounter with the Laotian boy led to protests by people who said the police had missed a chance to stop Mr. Dahmer. Others accused the officers of racism and homophobia.
Mr. Dahmer was arrested after a man in handcuffs fled his apartment and alerted police. Officers later found parts of 11 men in the apartment.
Mr. Dahmer told the police he had lured the men to his apartment with the promise of sex, and then killed them. He is charged with 15 killings and has confessed to killing two other men since 1978.
Officer Gabrish, 28 years old, a patrolman for seven years, said he and the other officers believed there was a caring relationship between Mr. Dahmer and the Laotian boy and saw no reason to intervene.
"We're trained to be observant and spot things," he said. "There was just nothing that stood out, or we would have seen it. I've been doing this for a while, and usually if something stands out, you'll spot it. There just wasn't anything there."
There was no reference in the Journal article to anything the officers saw or to the smell that Mr. Dahmer has said filled the apartment because of the body in the bedroom. Officer Gabrish spoke to the newspaper with the understanding that the interview would not focus on the incident, already the subject of inquiries by the State Attorney General and the Milwaukee Police Department.
Two lawyers for the police union accompanied Officer Gabrish for the interview.
Mr. Dahmer's neighbors have maintained that the Laotian boy was not removed by the officers because Mr. Dahmer was white and the witnesses were black. The officers are white.
Officer Gabrish said he had worked in Milwaukee's inner city for most of his career, sometimes with black officers, and was shocked that he and the other officers were accused of racism and homophobia.
"I've seen some flashes on the news, people walking with signs and saying, 'These officers are racist,' " he said. "I wonder where the thousands and thousands of people from the black community are that I've helped."

Yes i believe so but that was directly correlated to the fact that he was more sexually attracted to minorities. In his last interviews he made it a point to say that he never hated anyone. The motivation of his murders were to create sexual zombies by drilling holes in their heads and having people submit to him and do whatever he wanted with their body's.

Maybe the cops had the heebie-jeebies because they figured these guys are gay and it was during the AIDS uncertainty, and all that. But no way they followed procedure if it ended like this. They shouldn't have allowed it to leave their attention without someone to communicate the truth about the guy who couldn't speak for himself (medical workers, family, whatever). Taking Dahmer's word that "everything's OK", when they don't even know who he is in the first place, is just sickening.
Even worse, they don't know who the other guy is and that he's a minor who's been assaulted.

Yeah, Milwaukee was once a great American city. Once. But you can imagine the incredible nastiness happening in that heat and humidity, with Dahmer creeping around the streets looking for guys to drill into in all sorts of horrifying ways, before eating his experiments gone wrong (with ketchup, I read).
If he hadn't been such a sloppy drunk prone to mistakes, living in that ghetto apartment house, it's crazy to think how far it may have gone. If he'd been living on a farm, no telling.

I don't know much about prison policy, but from what I have gathered, "high profile" prisoners are often kept segregated from the general population. He was likely "supposed" to be segregated per the prison's responsibility to keep him safe (again, according to prison policy--not my personal beliefs). However, it's not surprising that they may have let him "wander" into general population.

WOW!!! I'm finding this Dahmer story to be pretty damn interesting and have some questions to ask from those who may know more about it than I do.
It's pretty damn evident from the photos posted above that Dahmer was the 'good looking, all-American kid next door,' who would appear to have no problem picking up sexual partners in gay bars anywhere' .... so it could be possible that there may have been numerous other gay dudes who spent some time in his apartment and managed to survive and go home without realizing what knd of killer he really was.
A question .... Did anyone who spent time with Dahmer and lived without knowing he was a killer show up in court to testify against him or even possibly.... on his behalf?

Stunt, yeah there are at least a couple of fortunate ones who survived Dahmer. The most notable of them went to Dahmer's swinging bachelor pad to drink beer, was assaulted by Dahmer (said to have been unusually smashed that day, even for him) and barely fought him off before Dahmer could finish handcuffing him. The victim bolted outside and continued running, partially cuffed, where he located PD and led them back to the scene.
It's how Dahmer was finally stopped.
That victim's name is Tracy Edwards, now nearly 60 years old. He didn't receive couseling or special attention of any sort, and quickly faded back into obscurity. His friends and family say he grew deeply disturbed after the incident, going completely off the rails with drugs and alcohol. 20 years later, he was charged with killing a person by throwing him off a bridge during a failed crack deal.

You figure with Edwards, one of the things that must've gotten to him, is the fact that his "down low" cover was blown to shreds that day. The reality he was into getting his kielbasa munched by other guys is something he'd probably rather NOT be broadcast to the entire world. But in effect, it was.
Any place he went after that, and anyone he'd meet, would understand that truth and I doubt he was very pleased with it. Even though it's only a minor part of the bigger picture, I'm sure it was a major problem in his mind. Since Dahmer's existence can never be answered for, it probably became the worst factor to accumulate over the years of his life.
Sounds very petty, but still true as it gets. Especially with him being on drugs and trying to get away from reality. Of course that's how he'd think.

I remember escorting a 19 year old Hitler Youth to his cell and he was yelling all sorts of racist stuff. I dropped him off at S block but once I had the door locked, I opened up the food try slot and told him not to go and call these fine gentleman a bunch of nigg#$rs or they may not like it and walked off making sure that I said it loud enough for everyone to hear. Problem was taken care of in about 15 minutes...he got a few slaps to the face but nothing major....moved him to another cell afterwards. ;D

My cousin studied at Ohio State and her fellow student boyfriend was Dahmer's roommate. At the time he enrolled at Ohio State he was already a murderer. She told me that she met him many times during the 3 months he attended the University when she visited her boyfriend in his accommodation but Dahmer never said a word to her or looked at her even though they were sitting in the same room. She later became a lesbian but I'm not sure if Dahmer had anything to do with that. :)

the one of him walking through court is kinda interesting because his arms don't move like a normal person he looks very stiff and awkward, but maybe feeling and looking awkward is normal body language for a guy while on trial for multiple grisly murders

Konerak Sinthasomphone, 14. The younger brother of the boy Dahmer had assaulted in 1988. Sinthasomphone was drugged and had hydrochloric acid injected into his brain before Dahmer left the youth unattended as he left the apartment to purchase beer. When he returned, he discovered Sinthasomphone naked and disoriented in the street, with three hysterical young women attempting to assist him. When police arrived, Dahmer persuaded them he and Sinthasomphone were lovers and that the youth was simply intoxicated. When police left Sinthasomphone with Dahmer in his apartment, Dahmer again injected hydrochloric acid into Sinthasomphone's brain, and this proved fatal. His head was retained in the freezer and his body dismembered.

With all the crazy thoughts and desires going through his mind, and with those thoughts amplified by being in "cruise" mode at a bar, I'd have to guess his vibe would be very off-putting to even the fruitiest of gapers. On some level, it must've been impossible for him to extend himself in a positive way.
Generally, he'd lure guys to his place with the promise of beer and possibly drugs. Although it is true some of his victims were openly "gay" men (judging by appearance), and those must have been an easier mark with no demands other than an understanding there'd be sex. If anyone had survived Dahmer without so much as being assaulted, it would've been one of those types of guys, but I haven't heard of a credible account of that.
I don't know if it was possible for Dahmer to get off in any other way than what he was doing, quite frankly. From what I understand, it was frustration over that fact which caused him to kill his first known victim (a teenage hitchhiker, white guy btw, that Wizard of Truth mentioned) when he'd have preferred the guy just to happily remain in his presence instead of asking to leave. It's said he never looked back from there, and his sexual urges became set in stone from that day.

Yeah Vince, I know it's the culture in those places. You've seen some shit when you were working that scene, I'm sure. Personally, I believe it only makes the situation worse and it will almost definitely make the subject dive deeper into his beliefs. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. If Dahmer's only half as weird as he seemed, though, he might've done something as unlikely or unexpected as to find an attraction to females at that time. For sure, it was a reasonable decision to investigate and there wasn't a choice but to do that, imo, since they became aware of it and knew he'd been there.
But I recall seeing something once about murders in Germany during that period, and they were similar in ways to Dahmer's work. Will post something up if it comes around again. (Russia) An alleged 'cannibal couple' – accused of killing and eating more than 30 people – are believed to have sold human meat pies to unsuspecting people in Krasnodar, southern Russia.
Dmitry Baksheev, 35, and his wife Natalia, 42, last week confessed to multiple murders and acts of cannibalism – but now sickened locals report that the duo were also operating a small food business.
This has prompted fears that their victims' body parts have found their way into several people's dinner in the local area.
Former nurse Natalia is reported to have sold meat pies to supplement her income, including to Russian military trainees at the training academy where she worked in the surgery and lived with her husband.
A local shop keeper said: "For sure these cannibals were looking for places to sell their meat," according to news agency Mash and reported by Metro.
"It was in 2010. She was very active, asked lots of questions but mainly about where we buy our meat and fish and how fresh it is. She made clear she could supply meat.

One photo shows a human head served up to eat on a plate of oranges. Another is a selfie of Dmitry with a victim's severed hand stuffed into his mouth. Police also found human remains kept in pickle jars in the couple's fridge and packs of meat in the freezer.

GRIFFITH, I had no interest in the Dahmer story until I started reading this thread .... and recently I purchased the "My Friend Dahmer" book in a 'comic book" type format for 99 cents via Amazon Prime which supposedly was based on Dahmer's high school shinanigans as evidenced by one of his close high school friends. (As you are well aware.)
It does not include much about the killings but it does dwell on his adverse home environment (crazy mother / absent father), his alcohol situation throughout his high school years, his spastic acts for the benefit of his school 'friends' who thought it was funny, and the fact that no one steered him towrds profesional psychiatric help prior to his horrendous deeds.
It was interesting to see that his 'spastic' act that proved to be so humorous to his 'friends' was Dahmer's attempt to impersonate a male interior decorator (drapery salesman???) who was visiting his mother one afternoon while Dahmer was home.
His 'friends' even paid him $35 to perform his 'spastic act' in the town's major shopping complex while they followed him just for laughs.
Has there ever been a movie or any form of documentation based on the precise details of each of his numerous killings? And any suspecions of him killing anyone while he was in uniform overseas?
A motion picture or TV series concentrating on his 'meet and greet and how each victim was murdered would make one hell of a scarrie movie.
Especially the episode in which the police returned one of the victims to 'Jeffry's' care.
I seem to recall that he ripped one victim's heart out of his chest but all the other killings are a complete mystery to me.

GRIFFITH, I had no interest in the Dahmer story until I started reading this thread .... and recently I purchased the "My Friend Dahmer" book in a 'comic book" type format for 99 cents via Amazon Prime which supposedly was based on Dahmer's high school shinanigans as evidenced by one of his close high school friends.
It does not include much about the killings but it does dwell on his adverse home environment (crazy mother / absent father), his alcohol situation throughout his high school years, his spastic acts for the benefit of his school 'friends' who thought it was funny, and the fact that no one steered him towrds profesional psychiatric help prior to his horrendous deeds.
It was interesting to see that his 'spastic' act that proved to be so humorous to his 'friends' was Dahmer's attempt to impersonate a male interior decorator (drapery salesman???) who was visiting his mother one afternoon while Dahmer was home.
His 'friends' even paid him $35 to perform his 'spastic act' in the town's major shopping complex while they followed him just for laughs.
Has there ever been a movie or any form of documentation based on the precise details of each of his numerous killings? And any suspecions of him killing anyone while he was in uniform overseas?
A motion picture or TV series concentrating on his 'meet and greet and how each victim was murdered would make one hell of a scarrie movie.
Especially the episode in which the police returned one of the victims to 'Jeffry's' care.
I seem to recall that he ripped one victim's heart out of his chest but all the other killings are a complete mystery to me.
Scarrie shit! Possibly even more so than The Texas Chainsaw Massacare.

Everyone was surprised that he showed up at a school dance with a chic, but he left her there and left only to return when it was over and said that he left and went to McDonald's because he was hungry.
But he did drive the girl home and departed with a hand-shake.

I used to think Dahmer was a bit of a dick, but he looks so peaceful there - almost saintlike. It's as though he's trying to tell us: 'Do not mourn the ephemerality of this earthly life, but rejoice in the infinite love and mercy of our Lord'. There can be no doubt that his soul, no longer confined to its physical manifestation, no longer bound to a biological brain abnormality, is now illuminated in the light of God's love.

I elaborated on this a few pages back by emphasising that Jeffrey's face on the mortuary table reveals the infinite love and mercy of our Lord. It should be obvious that his peaceful expression was the result of a terminal lucidity that came to him during his soul's departure from its physical manifestation. Our fears relating to the transient nature of life are assuaged when we accept the possibility of eternal salvation through the repentance of sin.
Jeffrey may have had an ironclad desire to turn people into zombies, but his heart was made from solid gold. He did not wish to harm anyone; he simply longed for companionship. Jeffrey's behaviour was the result of a dysfunctional limbic system (a collection of brain structures) intertwined with a damaged prefrontal cortex. Given that Jeffrey was simply a victim himself through being born with a complex personality disorder which left him unable to mediate his behaviour, to what extent do you think he should be held culpable for his actions? I would argue that Jeffrey should be exculpated entirely from accusations labelling him 'evil'. Does this mean that we were wrong to put Jeffrey on trial and imprison him? Well, that would depend on whether or not the purpose was to punish him or treat him. Jailing poor Jeffrey simply to use him as a tool to deter others is inexcusable and denies him the dignity of his basic human rights. Accepting that his behaviour was determined by factors outside of his control, however, does not remove the moral obligation to prevent him from harming the public, and it would be right to place him in a secure compound where he could receive the correct amount of medical care. However, subjecting the mentally ill to cruel and unusual punishment is no more acceptable than anthropomorphising animals to place them on trial and subject them to barbaric and inexcusably callous treatment for crimes they aren't even capable of comprehending - something we frequently used to do (See: The Criminal Prosecution and Capital Punishment of Animals by E.P. Evans).
Let us be honest: Jeffers was the real victim in all of this, and I've spoken in private with Sexybeast777 about setting up a Gofundme for Jeffery's family. 'Justice4Jeffrey' will ensure that all of the proceeds from movies and books about his life will now go directly to his next of kin. This type of exploitation cannot continue.

It is often the case that these predators have the ability to manipulate and charm individuals very easily, so one could very well imagine how Dahmer might be able to persuade a simple-minded, deluded heterosexual like Matt Canning to visit his apartment under the guise of friendship - perhaps offering to photograph his biceps, or let him play with an abacus - only to then do the world a favour by strangling him.

I watched the first two episodes last night. It's the stuff of nightmares. -Not sure I can make it through the entire series. It is far too upsetting to think there maybe others like him.
Millions of people have messed up childhoods as bad and worse than his. It does not explain his predilection for black, male, human flesh. The deranged, savage horrors he committed are beyond my comprehension.

Many serial killers come off as having engaging personalities and 'charmed their victims into trusting them, such as did the I-5 killer, Randall Woodfield and Ted Bundy.

Race did play a part. Most of Dahmer's victims were black. Like I said before, I don't think he cared about his victims' race. He lived in a black and low-income area. They were who was most accessible. The police were disinterested, incompetent and lazy. But then, so was the black apartment manager.
The stench the rotting bodies in his apartment emitted would be impossible to ignore. If you've ever smelled human death and decay, you know it is intolerable. When contained indoors it permeates everything from the ceiling plaster to the floorboards.
My stepdad was hired to paint an upscale Beverly Hills apartment where the former tenant died. The body was not discovered until the smell of it rotting seeped from that unit into the others. The apartment owner had all the contents removed and the place thoroughly cleaned and aired it out for a couple of weeks prior to getting the painting estimate. At the time, I was working with my stepdad. When we first entered the apartment, it still smelled like death. It was several more weeks before it got painted. I did not help him with it.

For many years, I questioned whether Reverend Jesse Jackson's motives became a little too self-serving. Had he stuck with being a political activist and not twice ran for President, I might feel differently. His work as a civil rights leader for marginalized communities is notable.
