I think the difference between conservatives and liberals is that conservatives believe that we exist for a reason...

And that reason is to become better people, spiritually etc.

The values that make us better people are all of the so called "old fashioned" values such as humility, charity, thrift, hard work, justice, kindness to strangers, delayed gratification, appreciation for the good things we have, patriotism etc...etc....

Liberals believe in simply making someones life easier even if it enables bad behavior...

Maybe that's why liberals are so sad/depressed...They believe life is meaningless...
