Some pros claim to have a 27-29" waist, but when I look at their pictures, it looks to be about the size of my waist, which is 30-32" I would think, but I will measure it again to be sure.  I think the lower the body, providing especially if you have the mass to make it look more dramatic.

i think those pro's measure their waist at the thinnest point, you have to measure at your widest waist position.

Generally, I'd consider a 16 inch drop between chest size and waist size to be excellent for the average male weightlifter.

I will have to take a picture to show where I'm measuring it...I'm measuring it basically where my pants would fall.  It's 32.75" sticking out my stomach as far as I possibly can and 30.75" sucking it in as much as I can - without pulling the tape as hard as possible, but just keeping it tight.  31.5" relaxed.

I have a small waist -27 inches, the problem with having a small waist is finding damn pants that fit. Pants with a 27-28 inch waist are way too tight on me, so I have to get a larger waist size and use a belt. This sometimes looks ridiculous because the belt squeezes the life out of my pants.

Since when did having a small waist make someone so muscular mate? I wish that was the case, then I would really be melting down (whatever that means) ;D

If your hips are wide it doesn't matter if you have a small waist. Hips needs to be small to have great tapper. Unless you want to look like a woman...  ;D

measure over the belly button and push your stomach out as far as it goes

it depends on height too, taller guys always have bigger waists

arnold's was 34 and had a nice vaccuum pose

Your waist size is a genetic thing, I have a 30 inch waist right now at about 225 lbs, I'm sure dieted down I could get as low as 28 not bragging just saying you can't really do much about it. Just get as lean as you can and don't train your obliques.

No doubt you can lose size on your waist with diet, but there is a point where it can't shrink any further.

if ronnie coleman represents the ideal of recent years, then the ideal waist measurement is about 45 inches.

Didn't Flex Wheeler have 75-78 cm waist as best?

Or was that Tony Pearson?

If you can get your waist down to 78 or even 75 cm, more power to you!

For me it feels like an impossibility atm ;)

There is no set number. It can be 40" as long as your shoulders are much bigger and it creates a small waist illusion.

Not really for bodybuilding purposes.  A big waist will look far too wide in comparison to your head and your midsection appears square giving you the appearance of a fridge.  See Jay Cutler for example.

Yeah I got a few tailor made pairs when I went on a holiday to Thailand - they were dirt cheap and the quality of the tailoring is awsome.

Mine is usually around 29' and I have the same problem regarding pants.  About the only kahkis I can find that feel comfortable to me are A and Finch and I hate paying that much money for clothes.  Against my principles.  Same with jeans.
