Here is how the fight will go:
Brock will bull rush towards Overeem and will be successful in taking him down. Brock is a monster in the first round when he is fresh and he can take anyone down. Imagine having a 300 lbs monster rushing at you at 25mp/h. Also, Overeem is a tall, lanky guy at 6'5, and the taller you are the easier you fall...
Brock takes him down and is able to hold Overeem down for most of the round but doesen't do any damage due to Overeem's strength which keeps Brock clinched and thus unable to ground-and-pound successfully.
At round 2, Brock is more tired but tries to take Overeem down again. Overeem hits Brock with several straight jabs to the face as Brock comes in, and as Brock becomes disoriented, Overeem clinches and hits Brock with several knees to the head. Brock tries to take him down again, but Overeem sprawls and clinches with Brock again, hitting him with more knees to the head. As Brock presses forward, Overeem keeps sprawling Brock's takedown attempts, clinching and using knees and elbows. Brock survives round two, but is a mess.
At round 3, Brock no longer has any wind left to bull rush, so he makes inept attempts at taking Overeem down. Overeem keeps his distance by kicking him in the legs and ribs. Into the round, Brock is exhausted and his strength is gone. Overeem moves in with jabs and Brock collapses onto the ground. Overeem hits him a few more times, the referee realizes Brock can't do anything about it and interrupts the fight. Overeem TKOs Brock.
My prediction: Overeem wins by 2nd or 3rd round TKO.
Whether it ends in the second or third round depends on whether Brock can still bull rush Overeem at the beggining of round 2. Probably not. If he can, then he takes the fight to round 3 but then he loses for sure.

I think the story of the fight will be Brock's ability to hold Overeem in ground.

Overeem got tired after the first round in the Werdum fight. And werdum aint no brock. Brock will try and TAKE overeem down not lay on the ground waiting.
imo Overeem will be DEAD if it goes into the third. I think he needs to stop brock in the first or early second to have a chance.
And hopefully he doesn't.
Within the first 2-3 min you will probably be able to tell how this fight is going to go.

Brock has always been giant his entire athletic career. He's used to handle himself with that weight. Overeem on the other hand has gained so much muscle in the last several years. It's hard to keep good cardio when you're constantly increasing your body mass.
Werdum fight was a very slow pace fight and Reem was breathing heavy already in the second round.
Gonna be an epic battle.

An additional question is how Overeem will react to the take down power of Lesnar. I am not sure he has ever faced someone has strong Lesnar. Lesnar is a high level wrestler but also extremely strong who can compensate for poor technique with raw power. Lesnar's problem is that his striking is no where near Overeems level and Overeems trainers know this. If Overeem can keep the distance and stuff the take downs he has a good chance of winning. I hope that Lesnar doesn't take the easy route to victory and lay on Overeem for the entirety of the fight. I also hope the ref has the balls to stand them up if that happens.

From my stand point, Brock may be same weight, but after a section of colon being removed, your physiology is completely affected. I am not sold that his nasty power he had built up can ever return and def not this quick as he learns how is body responds to certain meds and his nutritional make up all together. I just do not believe he will be same nasty power he was when he started in UFC. JMHO We will see. ;)

He will be around 275-280 tonight. :) He looked around the same when he cut down from 285 also as in It doesn't Look like he will gain much weight afterwards but he will. Didn't in his last two fight I think due to diet. But in his own words he did for this fight. Unless you're calling brock a All of a sudden a liar. Going from being honest about Not cutting and not lying about cutting? ??? will not look for the exact quote but its out there.
Overeem weighed in at 263 with big ass jeans on and will not be any heavier and in reality probably around 255 depending on what those jeans weighed.. Weight will not be a deciding factor at all. But Lesnar will be heavier and a Lot more then 3 pounds....
That was my point. So thinking there's only a 3 pound difference between someone who Just made the cut and someone who wasn't at the limit even with big jeans on is Stupid. And if you knew enough you would also realise that. Most people would.

Considiring how shitty overeems cardio was Without Werdum on top of him at any point on the fight Yes I think Overeem would be Dead tired in the second if brock got him down withint the first minute or so. Tired enough for brock to take him down with Ease again in the second. If Overeem doesn't conenct with something when brock comes in.

I have a very hard time imaging Lesnar winning this thing. I watched the fight promotion video, and I wasn't aware that Overeem has been in 60+ bouts in MMA and he has additional fighting experience in kickboxing. He's fought much better competition before, I'm sure this fight doesn't concern him at all. Just look at how relaxed he looked at the weigh in with a smile on his face ;D

Disagree. Most of the college wrestlers I've hung out and trained with aren't afraid of anything and are extremely mentally tough, they dont give up easy at all. Almost stubbornly tough. So I wouldnt go as far to say fighting isnt in his blood, but he sure doesnt like getting hit and he most def should of changed his methods and took some shots during training if he were smart..

Here is how the fight will go:
Brock will bull rush towards Overeem and will be successful in taking him down. Brock is a monster in the first round when he is fresh and he can take anyone down. Imagine having a 300 lbs monster rushing at you at 25mp/h. Also, Overeem is a tall, lanky guy at 6'5, and the taller you are the easier you fall...
Brock takes him down and is able to hold Overeem down for most of the round but doesen't do any damage due to Overeem's strength which keeps Brock clinched and thus unable to ground-and-pound successfully.
At round 2, Brock is more tired but tries to take Overeem down again. Overeem hits Brock with several straight jabs to the face as Brock comes in, and as Brock becomes disoriented, Overeem clinches and hits Brock with several knees to the head. Brock tries to take him down again, but Overeem sprawls and clinches with Brock again, hitting him with more knees to the head. As Brock presses forward, Overeem keeps sprawling Brock's takedown attempts, clinching and using knees and elbows. Brock survives round two, but is a mess.
At round 3, Brock no longer has any wind left to bull rush, so he makes inept attempts at taking Overeem down. Overeem keeps his distance by kicking him in the legs and ribs. Into the round, Brock is exhausted and his strength is gone. Overeem moves in with jabs and Brock collapses onto the ground. Overeem hits him a few more times, the referee realizes Brock can't do anything about it and interrupts the fight. Overeem TKOs Brock.
My prediction: Overeem wins by 2nd or 3rd round TKO.
Whether it ends in the second or third round depends on whether Brock can still bull rush Overeem at the beggining of round 2. Probably not. If he can, then he takes the fight to round 3 but then he loses for sure.

Junior is good, actually hes really good, tough as nails too with great footwork and excellent timing with accurate looping heymakers.. almost eastern boxing mixed with barnyard swings that always land.. This is a very dangerous fight for Alistair, however Junior has never fought a high level complete striker like the Reem.. This will be most highest level HW fight we've seen in a long time and interesting as ever, and Junior was talking Olympic comps last year wasnt he??

Overeem did exactly what he needed to do and won, plain and simple, clean and fair. You CANNOT take anything away from the guy! IMO his fight with JDS will be a stand up brawl and could go either way. Will be a good fight I hope.

Its really not Brocks fault as much as Id like to blame him, its the UFC's fault for coddling him, making him think he was better than he was, and assuring him that he was good enough to fight these kind of fighters when he wasnt.
Bottom line - Dana spoon fed him his early fights against over the hill fighters, cans, and people too small to do much to him...
