Kobe's No. 24 is No. 1 in jersey sales
Just as Kobe Bryant took the reins Tuesday night to lead the Lakers in an overwhelming playoff Game 5 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he also is showing how much clout he has in the marketplace.
Bryant's No. 24 jersey again is the top-seller in the NBA, the league announced Wednesday. His jersey also was No. 1 in 2008-09.

The Lakers were the top team in NBA merchandise sales, as has been the case in seven of the past eight seasons.
Second to Bryant in individual jersey sales is LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was No. 3, up one spot from last season. Chicago Bulls second-year player Derrick Rose was No. 4, and the Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard was No. 5.
Kevin Durant, whose Thunder have posed a surprising threat to the Lakers, is in the top 10 for the first time, coming in at No. 9. Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony moved from No. 15 to No. 10.

Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat came in at No. 6; Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets was No. 7, and Celtics star Paul Pierce was No. 8.
The Celtics were No. 2 in team merchandise sales for the second season in a row. The Cavaliers, Bulls and New York Knicks round out the top five.
Bryant changed his number from 8 to 24 at the beginning of the 2006-07 season. Bryant wore No. 8 for the first 10 years of his career.

Got an autographed Derrrick Thomas jersey back when I was a teenager. To the getbiggers who are younger than 25........DT played OLB/DE for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1989-2000. I was big fan of his talent during all of his career. Very shitty the way he died.
I would never buy a basketball jersey with today's NBA players. I'm a little old at 36 to be sporting NBA jerseys. But if I did I would wear someone like Bird, Robertson, or Maravich, something retro to the glory years of pro basketball.

Yeah DT was an absolute stud. I was watching the game when he like 9 sacks (I think it was 9?) and just missed out of 10. Something like that.
Too bad he hasn't gotten into the HOF yet. Definitely deserves to be there.

Well I wear my last name on the back of my jerseys so I am in the TO (I luv me some me)department! My main reason is that whenever i buy another players jersey, that player (Roy Williams, TO, Quincy Carter, Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin, Deion, Dorsett, Walker) either gets traded or cut. I have Magic and Jack Johnson's Kings jerseys but since my last name is Johnson, its all good!

When we were in D.C. during the time the Redskins were about to play Denver in the Super Bowl, my dad tried to put a white cap with a red R on my head and I dodged away. To HIM it was a big day for Doug Williams (Black QB thing) to me it was a day Washington made the Super Bowl and I hate them more than anyone else. So if someone gave me a Skins jersey I'd get rid of it quicker than Eli got rid of his Charger jersey! :P
