Can you tie a bow tie?
« on: October 01, 2012, 08:15:41 AM »
Do you routinely wear ties?  Can you tie or own tie or do you get help?  Do you tie a half windsor?  A full windsor?

Can you tie a bow tie?  I can't.  :-[

i use a half windsor and maybe wear a tie twice a week or so.
My dear old late dad used to be able to tie a bow tie and went to formal functions most fridays as he was the Deacon Convenor of Glasgow Trades House back in the 70's which was quite a big deal apparently.

Back in the day Dudes made much more of an effort. My old Dad had 7 tailor made suits, one for each day of the week plus several spares. He had 3 tailor made dinner suits for formal functions too. All shoes were hand stiched Churches at $300 a go.

Parker only knows how to tie a bowtie from his days slinging bean pies for the NOI.

I used to know how to tie a tie when I was in the military, had to wear them for our uniforms. Haven't done it in so long that I probably couldn't do it today.

I can tie a regular tie till the cows come home, but never a bow-tie, I don't think I've ever worn one except for 1 or 2 times, and that was a clip on.
