Last book you read thread
« on: September 08, 2007, 07:46:31 PM »
I read a Wrinkle in Time.  I was waiting for a friend, and she had it on her coffee table, so I read it . . .

Pretty good read.

it's christian symbolism meeting einstein's physics.

Jeremy Scahill's book about Blackwater.

It was your typical lefty propaganda.

I was gonna read Milton Friedman's Free to Choose, but forgot. Got it off a torrent on PDF..  ;D

I have to read Praise of Folly by Erasmus, Mandragola by Machiavelli, Don Quixote by Cervantes.. Bullshit liberal arts requirements..  :-\ HAVE TO READ THEM. Got book of Courtier too!! DAMNIT!  :'(

Last book I really read was Brent Easton Ellis' American Psycho and this was right after I saw the film.. Before that, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows(In only 30 hours!) 100-125 mg of Bronkaid, diet pepsi and Absolut = reading fuel. Loved American Psycho(the book).. If you liked the movie, then you'll love the book. I mean Patrick Batemen is my fucking idol and he's fictional.

I read AWIT when I was in high school. I don't remember it too well, but I do remember thinking that the religious symbolism was pretty overt.

I read the whole Dark Tower series, too. The ending of "The Wastelands" made me so angry that I wanted to punch King in the face.  That feeling was repeated exponentially once I reached the end of the series. I possibly would have felt the same way upon reaching the end of  "Cell", but I was less bothered by the wack ending because of the wack plot.

Right now, I'm reading a book called "The Algebraist" and after that I'll probably start on  "The Yiddish Policemen's Union". I've been so busy that I've been trying to get through "The Algebraist" for about two months.
