I just find it sad when someone loses the will to try.  Fatties are always on about their slow metabolism etc, but I think the vast majority just can't find it within themselves to get going.  It's like they surrendered themselves to hopelessness for whatever reason.

Pretty much ALL obese people have psychological issues and that is one of the ways it manifests itself.

We all can't have the genetics and "look" of the Good Dr. , DR FIST.  The man's been to hell and back and yet he looks like a super heavyweight MMA fighter.  At 312 pounds and 11% bodyfat, not all of us can attain a phisque like DR. FIST.  He can smoke and drink but it seems the more he does, the more vicious and harder he becomes.  If you think you can live like DR. FIST and still perform and have a body like his...good luck.  Getbig will rue the day he gets a computer and logs in.  I talked to him Saturday and he is compiling the "Ultimate FIST LIST".  Enjoy the photos and go so far to print them out and post them in your gym, on your fridge or even on your bathroom mirror to provide inspiration for when you need it.

Long hours in the office,  no time to excercise is a big contributor.In order for me to get my excercise in I have to get up at 4:30, so lots of time I sleep in till 5:30.  Also for me, a lot of the time food is the only pleasure I have in my miserable day.  During the week eating is all I have to look forward to.........Not saying its not my fault,  but the stress of corporate america can f with your priorities............

This.  There's no reason to walk around looking like Mr. Fitness all the time, but to get so far out of shape (assuming he was ever in shape) means he has no discipline, is a poor decision maker, a schmoe, or all three.  :-[

For me though I think you just start lifting with rather inflated ideas about what was realistic and then finally after years you realise that you aren't going to be a huge muscular beast...sure, there is no reason for crazy obesity but not everyone can look like Coleman or Yates or take your pick...

Look up Charlie the Karate chimp.  He's a local and ran for mayor in 1982.  They put him in retirement because he was getting old and starting to get a little nasty.  Carmen is a great person who saves many primates from very stupid and bad people.  I remember him telling me how he saved a monkey that was a pet in a bar.  The monkey was soaked in beer and had cigarette burns all over him, disgusting.  

If you're ever in the Cataract City I'll introduce you to him.
