Guess what: it's OK to be gay. You can teach your kids otherwise as you wish. I would be unhappy if they were to teach them it's not OK, and would prefer they simply stay out of it as i want schools to teach my kids reading, math, and such.

I don't agree in bashing gays, but I do believe its a wrongfull act, and they need help. I do not believe in two males or females raising children,I believe in the traditional family unit, a mom and a dad.

So, let me ask you this, what should a teacher say to his young student if he/she asked about gay relationships?

the media was innapropriately cruel.

Sorry, am not going for that one. I'm no fan of the "don't confuse me with the facts" media, but Palin made that bed for herself totally. In fact, I think the media could have been worse. She was like shooting fish in a barrel. The women is a moron with a capitol M. There's just no way to deflect the blame on that one.

I don't either, and there's a lot that can be done to reduce the number of abortions in this country, most of which has been blocked by the religious right. Regardless, at the end of the day, no matter how I feel, the rights of the women to choose what she does with her body trumps all.

Again, that's my position and I know yours, and there's plenty of related threads to debate in. My point in this thread is: you can thank the religious right for your new president. People have had enough if it, and went to the other extreme: a far left type.

Deal with it.  ;)
My problem with your posts started when you blamed religion.  Look how many black religious people that voted for Obama because he's black and has nothing to do with policies.  That's what you have to deal with

Many people thought it was wrong for people of different races to marry. The very law here in MA that is being used to prevent people from other states getting married in MA, was an old law used to prevent blacks and whites from getting married. They were bigots and wrong then, and people such as you are bigots and wrong now. You either believe in equal rights or you don't.

So, let me ask you this, what should a teacher say to his young student if he/she asked about gay relationships?

That some people of the same sex love each other. Next stupid question.

Right.  her being a 18-month governor, surrounded with stink of ethics violations and using state $ for fmaily trips, had nothing to do with it.

Her being unable to answer any Qs about important topics in interviews, no worries there.

Her believing dinos and humans played together 5000 years ago, awesome!

her hubby being a member of a separist party for almost a decade, groovy!

The media needs to get back to reporting the news and searching for the truth.  We can't trust them anymore with all their bias!!

Good points Brink!  I voted for Ron Paul.  Exactly right about the republicans and getting away from far right principles.  Watch for Bobby Jindahl in the next year or two.

Do you understand that Bobby Jindal is a RIGHT WING LOON further right than Palin?  Did you forget that he performed an exorcism and believes it to have worked in curing cancer?  You have at least 4 years to start learning how horrible Jindal really is.  If you disliked Palin, you should abhor Jindal.

And you don't think that the chances the kid they raise turns messed up isn't great...............

We already know the answer is..drum role....no. Kids raised by same sex couples turn out just fine, or at least no worse off then those by "traditional" families, etc. A loving family is a loving family and your attempting to force your view of what defines a family is typical ignorance and small minded. What of all the single parents out there? They don't fit your perfect mom/dad 1950s family either. Perhaps throw a law on them too? Ergo, you're a bigot. Most bigots don't realize they are one of course...

Don't compare people of different races getting married  to people of same sex, nobody is saying they are against different races being married.

I can, I did, and I will. It's no different and was a big issue at one time, with people just like you arguing it should be banned (which it was ) and other bigot closed minded BS because it went against the social norms and scared small minded types. The analogy is historically accurate, you just don't like that is exposes the realities of this current modern civil rights fight for those who want equal rights under the US Const.
