Pretty crazy shots, and this gets 18th (basically tied with a few others for last) place.

He placed low because he was an unknown newcomer.  If they had a "fan favorite" award at that show he might have won it.  He was easily tier 2! :P

he had symmetry problems, genetic roadblocks, not much he can do. other than that, it just goes to show how stiff the competition was (no homo)

and 1 and 2 weeks after the Olympia he beat a lot of athletes who placed higher in the Olympia (Milos, Porter Cottrell, Sonny Schmidt,....and others), and earned "final-places" at the Europa-tour.

Roland is now Trainer of many good german Bodybuilders, like David Hoffmann (Mr. Olympia-Amateur-Overall Champ in Malaga, or the new German Overall and HW champ Sergey Moser, and many more.....). His wife Dagmar helped him a lot to find his place again in Bodybuilding.

Coincidently, I too was wondering about the last place finisher in a 22 year old bodybuilding contest this morning.

Weak chest?? Are you not seeing the pictures posted above? He has an insane chest with striations and a horizontal split. You can see every muscle fiber in his pecs.

So you feel he placed low because he was a newcomer? Let's see... Lee Haney placed 3rd at his 1st Mr. O and 1st on his 2nd try. Dorian Yates placed 2nd at his 1st Mr. O and 1st on his 2nd try. Kevin Levrone placed 2nd at his 1st Mr. O, as did Flex Wheeler. ALL relative unknowns to the Mr. Olympia field.

This is a case where you need to compare him with the rest and not by himself with solo shots.

His MM is ridiculous. Each trap is the size of his head.

Behind Bertil Fox, he definitely had one of the most impressive most muscular poses.
