President to appear on NBC's 'Tonight Show'
Obama is expected to talk about the economy with Leno

WASHINGTON - The White House says President Barack Obama will appear this week on Jay Leno's television talk show, perhaps adding a lighter touch to his bid to resuscitate the moribund U.S. economy.
Obama will visit "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" during his trip to Los Angeles on Thursday.
NBC will tape the program and air it that night, after the president has returned to Washington.
An NBC spokesperson says she believes this is the first time a sitting president has agreed to appear on the "Tonight Show." It may also be a first for any late-night broadcast.
The network, however, is certain that it's a first for Leno, who's helmed the show for 17 years.
Obama's last appearance on the show was back in 2007 — in the midst of Obama's ultimately successful presidential campaign.
At the time, then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton was surging the polls. "Hillary is not the first politician in Washington to declare mission accomplished a little too soon," Obama joked.
Obama is scheduled to be in California for two town hall meetings. The campaign-like stops outside the beltway are part of the administration's ongoing efforts to promote the stimulus and the budget.

Jay Leno is a worthless piece of fat shit.
His sorry ass should've been canceled years ago.
Unfunny and without class.
And not to mention how he always kisses the asses of any politician who happens to appear on his show.
Probably will do that with Obama too.
The appearance on Leno will hopefully not be as bad as I fear.
But I don't expect the clown Leno to ask any hard questions.
Once Obama is off the show, Leno may start taking cheap shots at him.
But he would never say shit to Obama's face. Not even to his favorite joke topic - Bush.

He actually did the O'Reilly Show interview. That was definitely a pretty hostile situation.
I would love to see him in an interview on 60 mins or with Larry King or on State of the union with John King.

he was stunned at the AIG bonuses just today dodd said staff from the sec. of tres. said to make the language in the bill so that they would be able to give bonuses.
didnt address the legality of the bill passed today
made a comment about his bowling score being like the special olympics...this one doesnt bother me but what does is that if a rep had done this they would be crucified, im betting nothing is made of this and its not even mentioned.

the whole thing with asking good questions is following up with another one on the same subject in regards to their answer...like you said he danced around it, so hit him with another good question in response to his answer to get him back on track. It pretty much went like i thought it would

I really wish he would have answered the question or given reassurance in opposition to when Jay asked about "if Congress takes a dislike to someone" they can pass a law to tax them up the ying yang. As far as I could tell he did not state that that would not happen in the future.

I agree. I got the impression he wasn't going to sign the bill, but it would have been much better if said the bill would be DOA.
Other than that and the Special Olympics comment, I actually thought he did pretty good.
