he did the right thing for the wrong reason. everything obama does if from the stand point of political gain. he is the most calculating president i've ever heard of. and this after doing nothing to strengthen this country from within.

say what you want about bush/fail but he believed in making america stronger, and more powerful and he was willing to do the right thing in his mind regardless of how it made him look or how badly the media would decimate him afterwards.
