Very impressive indeed, one of the best FLS ever, but its just one pose and one of the few 94 pics he isnt getting owned and in this shot he's the only one facing the camara.

Levrone looked like a kid compared to Dorian, especially from the back.
How can you jackasses judge a contest from a few pictures from a few obscure angled photos?
Get pictures of Levrone and Dorian doing the mandatory poses side by side in pictures where we can see from the front, thats the only way to judge without actually watching the DVD.

There is NO ONE in the world who can touch Yates. In this show he was a brain-snapping 242 pounds , all of it expertly distributed. Against all the finalist , sensational though they were , Dorian possessed thickness and convexity in his back none can match. Even Levrone's triceps and legs , which had the bodybuilding community aflutter all year , paled in comparison with the same bodyparts on Yates. Where others might also boast size and striations , Dorian dominates them with stratifications as well. It's eerie how far this man takes the human physique.

Dorian was the most dominant bodybuilder in the history of bodybuilding , the judges spoke even at his worse Dorian was so far ahead of everyone it was no joke , and just because someone disagrees with the judges it means its true? then this is true ;)
The plain truth is that I beat Ronnie last year [2000] and Jay Cutler beat Ronnie this year. You should not win the Mr. Olympia if your stomach is hanging out -- period. Last year, I patted Ronnie's stomach during the posedown to draw attention to the fact that he was bloated. That tactic obviously didn't work, and Ronnie beat me in the posedown to successfully defend his title for a third straight Mr. O triumph.
So now the show rolls around and Jay Cutler beats Ronnie in both prejudging rounds: symmetry and muscularity. Ronnie was spilling over with too much water during the muscularity round, and Cutler took it to him in many of the poses that Coleman usually dominates.
How can Cutler lose this contest if he wins in both symmetry and muscularity? How can Ronnie retain his title if his midsection is bloated and distended? Why should the fans get behind a champion who can't present an aesthetic image of what bodybuilding is supposed to be all about?
I'm talking about classical proportions, perfect symmetry and ideal conditioning. Based on that ideal, I should have won the Sandow in 2000, and Cutler should have taken it in 2001.
The fans deserve better than what they are getting. I'm already working hard to ensure that, in 2002, a true peoples' champ can strip the title away from Ronnie Coleman.

If countless people are unhappy, then maybe there's something wrong with how things are judged. And besides, bodybuilding criterion can be spun from so many different angles so you can't have one definite definition of what's complete and what isn't because it's all subjective.
And don't discount fans. Fans go by their gut liking, and that's why so many like a bodybuilder who simply looks extraodinary, instead someone who's "complete" but looks like a flesh colored beer keg. :-\

Did he use a program like Dscaler? which allows for the adjustment of gamma, sharpening etc?
He mentions "crapy VHS" to support his point. But does he know what the source material was on the DVD?
So he could provide some interesting technical discussion, or just shout "fuck you retard". His choice.
And if you want to ponder a technical issue. If you take a screencap from an NTSC DVD and I take one from a PAL DVD and we assume it was shot on an NTSC camera - where did the extra pixels come from?

First, I was stating that up until the graphic artist mentioned
the unsharp mask tool (by his demonstration of the 1993 Yates backshot)
that I had no idea what the tool was or did.
I am not a graphic artist and the words sharpen and sharpen more
would seem by the word to make a picture more detailed. When you see unsharp mask it would seem to mean that would make a picture less detailed.
I had never used or experimented with the unmask sharp tool until the graphic
artist mentioned it.

Grainy? What causes it? Genetics? Training Style, ect?
There are a few things in photoshop that makes bodybuilders
look more grainy. They are in the filter section and are sharpen
and sharpen more. Here are a couple of Coleman pics that are
unshopped to my knowledge where I think he looks
somewhat grainy; although he's not known for that characteristic.
I will also post 3 pics of Dorian with just the regular pic
then sharpened...
then sharpened more...
Once again, what is the definition for grainy and how is it achieved?
The context of the discussion was that some pictures make
bodybuilders look more grainy. A more pixelated pic can appear
to give a BB a grainy look. My purpose was not to compare Yates and Coleman's
graininess but to get a definition and that some pictures make
bodybuilders look more grainy (therefore the black and white pic).
I didn't sharpen it but did make it grayscale to make it look more grainy.

there is no need to even use the sharpen tool, It is actually not a very good tool, the best way is to simply increase the contrast with the contrast tool, it will instantly add 10 -20 lbs of muscle and add some hardness as well. T....You can also easily smudge or blur light areas into darker areas creaing a fuller thicker bicep i.e. Its easy and Im sure done all the time.

or enhancing it except that you can see the picture better.

I dont believe there is really anything "grainy",,, I just think some guys have thinner, freckly skin thats all,,,,why is all the white scottish irish types are always grainy but you never hear that about the black or hispanic guys....

no lightening is fine, you can do that with levels I believe, it just makes everything brighter unlike the contrast/brightness tool which makes light areas brighter and dark areas darker popping out the muscle.

The reason for the different quality in colors even from the same VCR...
Forced Reps and I both got our VCR tapes from GMV so reason
would say that they should look exactly the same.The main difference is in the software used to make the frame captures
and to a lesser extent the hardware used to transfer the video to the computer.
I use Power DVD # 4 which is one of the highest quality computer DVD players.
Here is a link to a free trial download...

Take frame capture with this and then compare it to WMP, Real Player,
Quicktime, ect. and you will see they look very different.
Power DVD is an $80 piece of software and I just use the default settings.
This is why Dailymotion video looks very dark. Because I made it
with free, low quality video software.
I honestly didn't want to comment on this any further but someone is insistent on digging
up photoshopped pictures back from November. When I realized it was a problem
lighting and contrasting pictures I stopped.
If you still think they are shopped then use Forced Reps VCR or DVD Frame Captures.
I think if you look through my comments made barely a month after I started posting here
that I was honest all the way through with what I was doing with pictues.

I do apologize for the photos that were tampered with.
It was done more out of being naive. Once I realized it
was a problem I ceased doing it.

I rarely use the word "photoshoped" because it's been used incorrectly to describe a lot of different effects and you certainly wouldn't have to use Photoshop to ENHANCE a video screencap. Most software that extracts them has the tools available and even uses them automatically. So you could ENHANCE an image without knowing it's being ENHANCED. And as you can't see the difference between the two previous examples, the only way you'd ever know is if it was written on them.
