How the fuck didn't he beat Ronnie that year. Or any year. Ronnie looks like a sack of shit. He looked great in magazines but shit at the shows.

I doubt anyone would have more than 6 in a row.
Sergio gets 1972.
Robby Robinson gets 1977 or 1978(can't remember which year he was screwed).
somebody other than Arnold gets 1980.
Padilla or Platz get 1981.
Labrada gets 1990.
Shawn gets 1994.
Jay gets 2001.
Kevin gets 2002.
Martinez or Wolf get 2007.
How much more credibility would the "sport" have then?

Actually ray looked awesome in 97' too. Nice feathered vastus lateralis, excellant upper quad seperation, tight midsection, defined abs, complete arms, healthy face. Unlike the man standing to his right.

jay looked amazing in 2001 he should have won that show for sure, his physique hasn't really gotten worse since then it has just changed, he did look like shit in 07 and there is no way in the world that he should have won. but he looked great in 2004 and 2005 and 2006, not really worse than 2001 just different..

No he didnt. He has with perhaps the exception of the ironman 2003 gotten progressively worse. Advancing left right assymetry especially in quads, diminishing detail in arms, thickening of waist and gh face. How has he looked "great" in those years you mentioned? The only area he has improved is back width and thickness although he has appeared to have lost some of what little detail he had in back.

Yes, ronnie and dorian declined during their reigns but jay actually looks worse now as mr olympia than he did when he wasn't which is sad.

It may just be an off year , Ronnie was way off in 01/02 and in 03 came back in grand fashion in 03 went down hill in 04 looked a lot better in 05

he represents the sport pretty well, he's always been nice to fans, when i met him he was nothing but a gentleman answering all the questions i had taking time out of his day for photo's and autographs, never been in any sort of trouble with the law, come from a true working class family, i know he worked with his dad when he was in school... He didn't just have everything handed to him when ever he wanted it...
He persisted at the O and without giving up he finally won in after many years of trying. he has the record for most consecutive wins at the ASC, and also for most runner up finishers for the MR O title, has some great dvd's out ( well i think they are alright)...
did you want me to go on.... or did you want to tell me who you think would be a better representative for the sport?

I think the writing was on the wall, that this was going to be his last Olympia,
so they gave it to him. ::)
Much like they're going to give Jay his last Olympia next year :(
