Report: Dress E. Jean Carroll Claims She Wore During Alleged Trump Assault Did Not Exist at the Time
The dress that E. Jean Carroll — the woman who has sued former President Donald Trump for defamation for denying her claims that he sexually assaulted her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the early 1990’s — claims she wore during the alleged attack did not exist at the time, Trump’s lawyer pointed out.
Carroll’s second defamation trial against Trump is underway. Notably, Trump is not facing criminal charges in these cases. Carroll first went public with her story in 2019, posing for a cover of New York Magazine in the Donna Karan blazer dress that she claims she was assaulted in. However, it turns out the dress was not even available the original year that she claimed the attack happened.
Trump Attorney Boris Epshteyn told reporters, “She said, this is the dress I wore in 1994. They went back, they checked. The dress wasn’t even made in 1994.”
“And that’s why the date’s moved around. This is the 80s. Is it the 90s? Is it the 2000s? President Trump has consistently stated that he was falsely accused and he has the right to defend himself,” he added:
Trump added that “E. Jean Carroll was forced to change her story on the ‘Monica Lewinsky-type’ dress.”
“She originally claimed that the ‘event’ happened in 1994, and that she wore the Donna Karan dress on that day. The problem is that New York Times Fact Checkers found the dress wasn’t even made by Donna Karan until long after 1994,” Trump said on Truth Social.
“The truth is that she doesn’t know the day, month, season, year, or decade — because it did not happen. End this Witch Hunt now!’ he exclaimed:
In another post, Trump doubled down on his remarks on Carroll, declaring his innocence. Until the filing of this ridiculous lawsuit against me, I knew nothing about this woman, never heard of her, never touched her, had nothing to do with her. Indeed, Trump is correct that Carroll is backed by Democrat operatives. As Breitbart News detailed:
Indeed, one of Carroll’s attorneys is Roberta Kaplan — a Democrat Party activist who led the group Time’s Up. She left the activist group after it was revealed she was aiding former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in attempting to discredit the Democrat’s accusers. It served as a great irony as Time’s Up seeks to defend women from what it claims is discrimination and harassment. This fact has led to mounting speculation that Kaplan only gets involved in cases that she views as politically expedient.
Further, Federal District Judge Lewis Kaplan is overseeing the process and has connections to Carroll’s other attorney, Shawn Crowley. She was actually a law clerk for Judge Kaplan, and he officiated her wedding.
That aside, Trump has denied knowing the left-wing activist as the only evidence of any contact is a single picture with Carroll greeting Trump and his ex-wife Ivana at an event greeting line over 35 years ago. Carroll has yet to provide solid evidence of this alleged encounter and will not use the dress that she claims had DNA on it from this alleged incident. Even Trump publicly said the dress should be part of the case. Further, there are no eyewitnesses of this alleged incident, which supposedly occurred at the popular New York City department store.
Further, Carroll is financially backed by LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman, who has admitted to visiting convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, more commonly known as “Pedophile Island.”
Nevertheless, the judge has found Trump’s past remarks against Carroll to be defamatory as the jury determines the amount of damages to be paid out in the current case. The case was delayed this week due to a sick juror, but has not come without drama already, as Trump told the judge on January 17 that he would “love it” if the judge throws him out of the courtroom.

E. Jean Carroll’s second defamation lawsuit closed on Friday as a New York jury determined that former President Donald Trump owes her $83.3 million for defaming her in 2019. However, what has continually fallen under the radar is the fact that there are serious concerns with the woman’s entire story. Yet, she was awarded tens of millions of dollars.
Carroll originally came out with her story in 2019, detailing the alleged incident, claiming that Trump sexually assaulted her in a Bergdorf-Goodman dressing room in the mid-1990s: “Carroll said Trump followed her to a fitting room at the store, shoved her against a wall, pulled down her tights and, ‘forcing his fingers around my private area, thrusts his penis halfway — or completely, I’m not certain — inside me.'”
Trump has vehemently denied the allegation over the years, prompting these defamation suits by Carroll.
“It’s just as bad for people to believe it, particularly when there is zero evidence,” Trump said in 2019 when the allegations first arose. “Worse still for a dying publication to try to prop itself up by peddling fake news — it’s an epidemic.”
“If anyone has information that the Democratic Party is working with Ms. Carroll or New York Magazine, please notify us as soon as possible,” Trump wrote. “The world should know what’s really going on. It is a disgrace, and people should pay dearly for such false accusations.”
Despite the odd things about Carroll’s story — and a stunning lack of evidence — she was awarded tens of millions of dollars, which Trump supporters say shows just how scary the justice system has become if one is a targeted individual
Here are some facts about Carroll’s story that the establishment media do not want the public to know:
1. Bergdorf Goodman has no surveillance video of the alleged incident.
2. There are zero witnesses to the alleged sexual attack.
3. Carroll first came forward — conveniently — with the allegations while promoting her book What Do We Need Men For? in 2019, which featured a list of “The Most Hideous Men of My Life.”
4. Carroll was unable to remember when this alleged attack even occurred. She told her lawyer in 2023, “This question, the when, the when, the date, has been something I’ve [been] constantly trying to pin down.” She has jumped years — originally beginning with 1994, then moving to 1995, and even floating to 1996. She cannot remember the season in which the alleged attack occurred either.
5. The Donna Karan blazer dress she claims to have worn during the alleged incident was not even available at the time of her claims. Trump Attorney Boris Epshteyn told reporters, “She said, ‘This is the dress I wore in 1994.’ They went back, they checked. The dress wasn’t even made in 1994.”

Police in New York took possession of a gun belonging to writer E. Jean Carroll in February after she said during testimony in her defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump that she had an unlicensed firearm at home, according to a police report obtained by NBC News.
The chief of police in Warwick, New York, visited Carroll at her home on Feb. 15 “to discuss some open issues,” the report states, including Carroll’s disclosure of the handgun while she was on the witness stand Jan. 17.
During the second day of the civil trial, Carroll had told the federal court in lower Manhattan that she kept a “high standard revolver, nine chambers” at home with ammunition. “By my bed,” she said.
“I still do not have a license,” Carroll added.
John Rader, the reporting officer, said in his report that he “offered to secure the weapon at the police station’s property for safekeeping.”
Carroll and a member of her security team surrendered the gun a day after Rader visited, and the firearm was being held until Carroll receives a New York pistol license, the report said.
Under New York state law, a person can be found guilty of criminal possession if they possess a firearm, such as a pistol, that has not been registered. The felony carries a maximum sentence of four years.
It was unclear why police waited almost a month to inquire in person about the unregistered gun Carroll said she had at her house or whether police are still in possession of it.
Carroll’s gun became a contentious topic under cross-examination in the January hearing, as Trump attorney Alina Habba pressed Carroll on her gun ownership and whether she knew she needed a license for it.
The judge presiding over the case, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan, appeared outwardly frustrated over the line of questioning by Habba.
“Don’t even start,” told her when she began asking Carroll about the firearm.

If E. Jean Carroll is not careful, she will blow the $83 million before she knows it. :) While this case is under appeal, it puts any tax issues on hold for both E. Jean Carroll and Donald Trump. If Trump loses the appeal, he may be able to take the payment as a business deduction on his taxes. E. Jean Carroll will have to pay taxes on the award. Hopefully, she plans to put aside whatever taxes she ends up paying to the IRS.
