Of course it is, but it's not necessary for them to bench 500lbs. It doesn't hurt, but it's not necessary. If you want to debate this further, I'm always open to these kind of debates. But if you think it more necessary for a lineman to bench 500 + lbs than to be fast and athletic....then reconsider who the tool is.

I don't think anyone is arguing that someone NEEDS to deadlift 700lbs, only that it is beneficial to be as strong as possible.

so is speed and athleticism
