Difference between arrogance and confidence in the eyes of women?

I know and often hear that women love confidence in a man. However, I see many women who enjoy the whole 'badboy' and 'asshole' thing where a guy is arrogant and displays false ego.

Do women enjoy a bit of both? Or is it just confidence?

Can I start off confident and play nice guy and then switch to being an ass if I know I have the girl's admiration? I've seen women who seem head over heels in love and they seem to enjoy the 'badboy' routine. But will that work in the initial date or when I'm trying to get that number?

I seem to get mixed answers, so I thought I'd ask women on the internet.  ;D

Not true.  There is a difference between confidence and arrogance/cockiness.

Confidence is being sure of one's self.

Arrogance/cockiness is being in love with yourself and thinking you are far better than others.


I can be sure of myself, but still know that I am not better than someone else.

Not to change the topic but it's kind of the same. I find confident women very attractive but cocky or arrogant women very unattractive. Sometimes it's a subtle difference.

I don't agree

guys that are truly confident are arrogant and cocky too, they just are socially intelligent enough hide their arrogance and come off somewhat humble

inside their minds they think they are better than most 8)

Okay, this thread, I like it.  I've oft wondered.

As a woman, I reckon there's a big rift between confidence and self-esteem.  I have tons of confidence and every reason to, but the self-esteem issue is difficult to define.

So, are you saying that with blokes it's about confidence and something else?

Naaa, let me re-define myself and my previous post.  Male arrogance is simply, I thought, the left-brain thing.  They only think about themselves most of the time.

My dictionary says presumptuous and haughty.  Hahaha

Earl very well put, I rarely know anyone with only one trait.  Confidence brings along arrogance cockiness, but some people hide it very well like Earl said.  You arn't going to have a hot girl that doesn't know she is hot and have an attitude about it, some hide it better than others.
