Tire experts - need help
« on: January 24, 2010, 03:40:27 PM »

Getting new tires for my truck, I think they are pulling a fast one.

After several hours, it was determined I needed all 4 replaced. Ok.

Well, the dealer ordered up Yokahamas and said they're the same as I have on now. But my tires say 'General'.  How can these be the same?  Are Yokohamas made in America?

Thanks.

2007 F-150 with 60K miles.

When it comes to certain products, I prefer to buy American.

I had to pre-pay the whole order and don't even get them until tomorrow.  >:(

Good time to trade it in.  Dealer's need the used inventory and there are blow out deals and rates on new vehicles.  I could see you in a Lariat Crew Cab...

LOL!  I do like the Lariat, but I'm too blue-collar for that. Well, admittedly, I do fly business class and stay in 4-star hotels, but other than that, I'm the consummate common man.

I drove my last car until it was 11 years old. I plan to keep this one until the kid graduates. She's 7 now. ;)

the f150 is not a big bad truck next tot he rangerr it is the smallest truck ford makes.   I have a 150 and a 450 and Ive got a huge dick. SO your theory is dead wrong.

He'll be smarter when he learns to avoid taking any of his vehicles to the dealer - unless absolutely necessary.

x2   but for tires always order from tire rack and pay a local shop to mount and balance.

My bad - I was referring to the tire dealer, Big O.

Should've bought 'em online, but was in a hurry, cuz I wanted to ski this weekend. Fail.
