im kinda ethier way on this.when i was a fan in the 80s the crowd had more women in it and "regular"people i guess.now it seems the audience  is all male and a part of the "gamer", nerd culture etc.wrestling now appleals to these people where before it was way too"redneck"or jockish.
oh well.
the wrestlers are often in good shape and great athletes.many of the males that are fans are the opposite nearly everytime.Vince tried this once in a way with the WBF and icopro products.it failed in many ways.trying to market lifting and such to the hardcore wrestling fan is a silly idea if youve ever been around them for long.
also phil heath on tna was another example.id say most of the wrestlers knew who he was and thought it was cool while id bet no one in the crowd had any idea.
that being said i enjoyed it a bit in years past.

if it wasnt for prowrestling bodybuilding popularity would be even lower i cant imagine how many started lifting weights inspired by some professional wrestler while a child. Wrestling is very hard to have the look the charisma and acting skills

Same for me, the likes of buffed up Triple H, Scott Steiner, Ultimate Warrior, ... that made me start lifting weights.

same. I remember looking at flex covers as a kid and yearning to lift but it was really S Steiner, Road Warriors that really motivated me.
