I thought I understood he was going to start promoting fights in Japan..
So it might be under bellator .. or it might be his own league partnering with bellator which spike Tv owns..
I'm just glad the fight will be seen live from Japan on spike...

Yeah, I'm sure we will get all of the details soon, but that was some unexpected news.  Goes to show you that those articles that had him signing with the UFC were bullshit.

Tito's ground game never evolved. He was always an offensive ground and pound guy. The elite fighters of today have fantastic submission defense. Tito walked right into those submission attempts.

That used to be on my to do list when Liddell was fighting. I need to just go see some local talent fight. I went and saw Toughman a few times, that was fun. I got in a fight in the audience at Caesars one of the times.c :D

Lol.......Kendall "The Spider" Grove.  I remember him from The Ultimate Fighter show.

He never amounted to anything in the UFC, but I remember him fighting for the title in Bellator earlier in the year.

The talent is slowly getting better, but Bellator is still mainly for up and comers, and has beens.

The best guys are usually scalped by the UFC eventually.

The top paying guys are the ones bellator will have a tuff time getting.
Recently a couple of fighters have left the ufc.. due to the shitty pay structure
Or lack of sponsorship money due to the Reebok deal..
Which Bellator doesn't have a ban on sponsors...

Tonight during the Bellator MMA broadcast, it was announced that Fedor Emelianenko was returning to fight, but for a new promotion in Japan founded by the man who started PRIDE Nobuyuki Sakakibara.

Fedor will make his return this New Year's Eve in Japan at a yet-to-be named event against a yet to be determined opponent.

Spike TV released the following press release:

San Jose, CA, September 19, 2015 – Spike TV will celebrate New Year’s Eve with an MMA mega-event featuring mixed martial arts worldwide legend Fedor Emelianenko.
Emanating from Tokyo, Japan, the event marks the debut of a new global MMA promotion run by former Pride President Nobuyuki Sakakibara.

Bellator will partner with Mr. Sakakibara on the MMA extravaganza and will have fighters from its roster participating.  The event will be broadcast to Spike’s 93 million homes in the United States.

Fedor’s opponent and further details on the event will be announced at a later date.

I was great event production-wise, I see a lot of fighters from the UFC jumping ship just for the sponsorship alone.

Josh Thompson got 35.000+$ from sponsors, in the UFC he got 5k from Reebok..

I wonder what Sakakibara is up to. How the hell is he going to come up with a new organiztion?  Where will he get enough quality fighters (that people actually want to watch)

He should just join forces with Bellator permanently, and use his experience with Pride to make Bellator even better.

It will be very interesting to watch this all develop. I wonder how stacked that New Years Eve card will be?

Do you think guys like Wandy, Anderson Silva, and Nick Diaz can fight in Japan?

Would their suspensions hold up over there?  :o
