He probably never lifted a weight in his life (at least not with the goal of putting on needless mass)
His wide, strong shoulders are the result of his height/genetics and swimming.

This is also because a significant amount of the mass of pro bodybuilders is due to "sarcoplasmic hypertrophy"; hypertrophy of non contractile elements of muscle, mainly due to high volume, high rep set workouts. Also don't forget synthol.

Though pisarenko still holds his own against bodybuilders:

I'm sure any diet would work as long as you had a decent amount of protein then ate enough calories on top of that to replace what you burned during swimming/weights training. I doubt you'd have the time to put in on the cardio compared to someone like this. When I swam, up through high school and early college I could eat whatever I wanted and still stay lean because I was swimming 3-5 hours a day 5 days a week(depending on 2-a-day practices or not), plus trying to build size in the gym once I started bodybuilding. The swimming workouts a guy like this would do would burn thousands of calories a day, you'd have to eat enough carbs and fat to spare protein to keep some lean muscle on.

Then if you never fall into overtraining, maybe eat like off-season and 6 hours or something cardio is the best thing.

i don't think 'over training' exists.

take the gymnasts in this thread for example- for the better part of their lives they have spent hours every day training their muscles to preform feats of strength like the iron cross.

conventional bodybuilding wisdom would have you believe such training would lead to over training and stall muscle growth, but for athletes who do not do bodybuilder type training they have incredibly developed upper bodies, all the while remaining drug free.

i don't think over training exists, just under training.

I think you will find that steroid use is extremely common in gymnastics. The European countries and Russia dominate that sport, and as we all know, they can get their hands on high quality gear fairly easily.

False. Not a sport where they would play a positive role. Yes, you need to be very strong but also as small/light as possible. And these athletes are streamed into such programs at very young ages if they show signs of promise. The defined muscles you see are from years and years of repetition. Some will have upper bodies that resemble bbers, others won't; genetics will out.

take the gymnasts in this thread for example- for the better part of their lives they have spent hours every day training their muscles to preform feats of strength like the iron cross.

conventional bodybuilding wisdom would have you believe such training would lead to over training and stall muscle growth, but for athletes who do not do bodybuilder type training they have incredibly developed upper bodies, all the while remaining drug free.

You can't possibly be so naive to think that they are drug free, hahahahaha.

hey idiot- read dr chimp's response if you need an example as to what an educated reply would look like.

these guys didn't start taking up gymnastics yesterday, they have been doing it since they were old enough to walk.

next time, think before you post and save yourself alot of embarrassment.

hope this helps.

dude is 6'8" and not in the NBA, in a year or so his swimming "career" will be over and he won't have a penny to show for it.

the minimum NBA salary = $442,114

the average NBA salary = $5.2 million

Beside the fact that he need to be a good player to get into the NBA, you forget the endorsement deals and government bonus Olympic athlete's get. I'm sure he is doing some pretty good money now.

Not to mention that European money is worth more here and these guys could give a shit about BBall and American football.  Red Hook should really look more into swimming and see what is offered.  He should also look and see how many basketball players have millions to show after their career of spending money on women, parties, and entourage, cars and houses.  I bet that money stretches REAL for the intellectually challenged individuals in basketball.
