Cephissus' meals like gorgeous. I sometimes hate clicking on this thread as it just makes me hungry and also reminds me of how bland my meals are in comparison. :D

Sadly though, my days of cooking like this may be coming to an end... may have to refocus my efforts to make progress on other goals

I hope you will still upload food pictures to this thread, regardless of your future situation? :-)

Maybe... honestly, it seems like a waste of effort most of the time.  Thanks for the encouragement, though ff, dr j, superted, dp, etc.

I'll probably just end up cooking a bunch of repetitive meals like this "italian rice" in the future.  Bodybuilding meal of peace... This one's a throwback to my early days.  Of course I got distracted trying to prep tomorrow's braise at the same time and drastically overcooked the rice into a nasty mush ;D

Ceph if you want my advice I would say don`t bother with the pictures and just take a break.  Find around 25 meals and desserts you really like and stick to that.  Its easy to get burned out with cooking.  Then come back to it when you have had a decent break.

Thanks for the advice.  You've taught me a lot, tbh.

In this case, it's partially burnout but also just makes financial sense to scale back and cook simply.  Trying to switch jobs and I don't know if I have enough energy to study, cook part time, AND work full time.

Thought about the whole food-as-career thing as well, but again at this point it just doesn't make sense.  Maybe somewhere down the line...

Tho if 38 would patronize my restaurant daily... I may reconsider

Well, I've officially retired.  It was a fun three months or so, but this is best for my health and sanity.  Probably won't be cooking much 'picture-worthy' food from now on.

Nonetheless, I think I'm only now going to be able to develop and actual cooking style.  Someday I hope to be able to call myself a good cook.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.
