I will usually figure 20% for good service, up to 30% if it was great service, the food was excellent and the dinning experience memorable.

Very poor experience and crappy service will get them 10% or less and rude, ignorant, not caring service yields them 0. That has only happened a few times.

I tip well, depending on service.

Some people are just retarded when it comes to tipping. My Ex GF would make me leave 10-12 dollars on a 25 dollar bill at the diner, and break my balls if i didn't...saying "this is how they make their money".

So I would say "hell why don't i just leave her $100 dollars and she can go home for the day?... what the fuck." She was ridiculous.

again tipping is optional except if the place has it mandated, in that case they lose my business. The food is marked up enough, you should see the profits they make on the food they sell you, maybe instead of pocketing all the money they make from food sales like jews they should share some profits with the waitstaff and kitchen people and tips wouldn't be such a big deal.

25% for excellent service (refills drinks without asking, good suggestions, very personable, checking in at appropriate moments)
20% for standard (good) service (refills with asking, no suggestions, mildly personable, checking in occasionally)
10-12% for substandard service (no refills, no suggestions, grumpy or getting order wrong and refusing to take responsibility)

More or less the percentages I use for tipping.
The exception is that there are occasions where substandard service should receive 0% tip. Poor service should not be rewarded. That waiter/waitress/salesperson needs to know they have to work on their service skills or consider another profession.

I tip based upon a bodybuilding trivia system.

I give them 10% of the bill for every Mr. Olympia champion they can name.

For most, it's Arnold they can name. And they get 10%. it's their own fault for not paying attention to current events.

Only on GetBig.. typical tip range between 20-60%

I'm sick and tired if hearing waitresses make $100k at popular restaurants / bars. Job that requires absolutely no education and hard work only during busy hours doesn't deserve money like that. Anyways, I tip around 15% after tax (so more than that before tax) and haven't seen anyone not like me even at my regular hang outs so I don't care - not there to impress anyone with huge tips!

The only thing i don't enjoy about the states is the constant tipping of everyone for eveything. Tip the cab driver, tip the guy who takes your luggage out the car, tip the guy who shows you to your room.........shit just never seems to end.
