It's this kind of thinking that holds up progress and gets people frustrated as to why their lifts never improve and are stuck. It's not that complicated but Waay more complex that you seem to think it is.

Not complicated but complex?
You do know those two words are synonyms don't you?
High on the chest puts more strain on the shoulders, low on the chest involves the pecs more.

Thats pretty much it mate.

a speed day on weds, right?

i'm not a fan of "speed days" and i think that every day should be heavy

Have you seen this article? Coach, what do you think of the article?

no i haven't and thanks for that article man :)

i never really understood this concept of "light-moderate" and/or "speed days" as it just seems nonsensical to not train hard

Blakely (the fella in that vid) is against "light days" as well

"There have been efforts over the years to alleviate this gym withdrawl by prescribing “light days” of exercise to help the gym addict make it to the next real training session. I generally disagree with this. If a workout is not of a sufficient level of intensity, it will not induce growth or strength gain. Going in and squatting a couple hundred pounds for a few sets and reps will in no way cause strength increase for a 650lb squatter. In my opinion it is senseless and cuts into recovery time if done too heavily."

i just started benching seriously a few weeks ago and my max (with a full 2 second pause at the chest) is a measly 235 @ a bodyweight of 156

so i'm curious, do you think that i can train bench heavy twice a week at this point in time?

i'm thinking that since i'm pretty damn weak right now that i can do so, but once i get my comp bench up to around 275 or so then i'd say that it's time for me to go to once a week heavy bench, so what's your thoughts on this? (and i plan on not going over 76 kg (167) or so in bodyweight, coz if i end up doing an IPF bench i wanna be able to make the 74 kg (163 pound) class)

i'm thinking that you follow westsides protocol of a max day on sunday and a speed day on weds, right?

i'm not a fan of "speed days" and i think that every day should be heavy

Stop askingthe coach questions he is just going to google to find the answer so you could do the samething.

Complex is used to refer to the level of components in a system. If a problem is complex, it means that it has many components. Complexity does not evoke difficulty.

On the other hand, complicated refers to a high level of difficulty. If a problem is complicated, there might be or might not be many parts but it will certainly take a lot of hard work to solve.

Also, Jeffrey, simply "lifting the bar, bring it down to your chest, then push it back up" so to speak is over simplifying and will give you as much result as the common gym rat (of which I think you are IMO) is expecting and receiving.  For those who want greater strength, there is so much more to it.

Another fucking sales pitch, it's lifting fucking weights, its not rocket science.
The stronger you are the more weight you can lift.

Bullshit, good coaches and trainers are paid to do three things, in order...design programs, implement programs and insure results, not count reps. You give credit when credit is do and be brutally honest with your client. If you're a trainer or coach that's a "yes man" time to find another job or career.
