Wow... was shocked when the first thread popped up, then it seemed to be sort of unreliable news, and now it sadly seems pretty much confirmed. We had our differences, but I was really hoping this would turn out not to be true. It'll definitely be a less interesting board without his posts. In the past few weeks, it seemed like there was a new multi-page Pellius thread everytime I checked the site... maybe he accomplished all that a getbigger can accomplish and was called to continue his work elsewhere. Incidentally, I checked Plain Jane's profile when trying to figure out if this was true or not because I remember them frequently talking about meeting up in the future. Wow, he always said I was the only getbigger to actually meet me him face to face (recognized him when I was checking out a 24 hour fitness on Oahu a few years ago).
He was very pleasant that day. I read somewhere he was actually part black and I assume mainly white. He fitted in in Hawaii since most people here are mixed race.

In the wig thread Pellius went for a haircut. The Vietnamese barber forgot that he wanted sides to be kept long to help hide his ears. Pellius was on his phone and the barber forgot. Pellius posted a photo of the haircut and titled it "Dumbo". He admitted, previously on the board, that he was teased as a kid. That was one reason he didn't want to have children. Getting teased as a kid leaves scars that are difficult to overcome. Sometimes we compensate but usually some damage is permanent. I always wondered why anyone would debate people to the bitter end. I mean, he would use any means at hand, dirty and clean. He was one of the few posters who would make individual threads to each person he wanted to respond to. He was teased as a kid and wasn't going to put up with any shit on line. One of the pastimes he chose was martial arts. I am sure he had plenty of injuries from that sport. Especially as he got older.
Pellius had strong ideas about training. We agreed on most except the frequency. He felt one should recover before retraining a muscle. I felt we should hit the muscle again every 3rd day. He demonstrated that he could make his calves grow at least a couple of inches. He had small joints so the end result was amazing calves. His method was appreciated on Ironage and Getbig. I challenged him to try to get his arms bigger using my protocols but he wasn't interested...so he never did test my theory.
Pellius had a sense of humour and he didn't hold grudges forever unless someone really irked him. Josh called some of his relatives and eventually talked to Philip. Lo and behold they became mates. Pellius even called Josh his mentor! Amazing when you consider Josh's volatile personality. Because of those phone calls Pellius made sure his relatives weren't exposed on Facebook. So they all made their profiles private and didn't post much at all. His sister, Chrissie, used to post heaps especially about reunions.
I wonder why there wasn't a funeral for Pellius. Or an obituary. Perhaps he didn't want any of that? He lived almost like a hermit at Robert Fearing's house near a beach near Honolulu. I know that because one day I posted that he might live in a caravan in a lot near their house. He took a photo with his iPhone and there was his location!

I struggle with depression an anxiety issues but it`s not like that is anything new to me,I just have good and bad days much like anyone else but I tend to worry too much and it`s hard to shut my brain down so my sleep is terrible but any day above ground is a day to be thankful for and I am grateful to be here.

I've always thought that one day when older, I might just pick up a job at a local Lowes or Home Depot in order to learn more of the house rehabbing stuff and pick up some tradesman-type skills. Some of us that grew up in big cities have very little clue as to how to work on a house (put up walls with insulation, put down flooring (carpet/wood) with baseboards, proper painting, installing light fixtures onto a ceiling, plumbing, putting in an electrical outlet etc). Those are incredibly valuable skills that I mostly have my condo building's maintenance crew handle (we pay for their services on a monthly basis). Growing up I always admired men that knew how to do shit like that. Very honorable and respectable.
One thing I can do is work on cars and engines (old man taught me that), but soon with electrical cars taking over that skill will become obsolete.
Good for Pellius to have picked up something that was fun and edifying to do.

My dad had a 68 Fastback Mustang that he drag raced. We worked on it together almost every weekend for 15 years. I wish he wouldn't have sold it.
A few years ago, I purchased a 2011 dark purple mustang convertible V8 with black drop top and cream interior.
It was a real gem with low miles , in mint condition. I finally owned my "dream car".
Then I got cucked by a Kia dealer who talked me out of it.
Old cars will be around for a long time. You can still wrench on an older model. Some of my friends back in Texas still build 60's and 70's muscle cars.
I've always wanted to get an old truck and fix it up nice, just don't have the time right now.
I was building cars with my dad as a kid. I rebuilt my first engine at 14 (with his help). It's a fun hobby to have as long as you have a bit of patience.
My dad had a 68 Fastback Mustang that he drag raced. We worked on it together almost every weekend for 15 years. I wish he wouldn't have sold it.

I kinda feel the gh15 era wasn't good for older guys like pellius. He must have upped the dose on tren and hgh due to gh15's babbling.
A lot of us were in our 20s during that era, so it wasn't as bad unless someone went full retard with teh lifestyle (though a lot of kids started blasting and cruising in the 2010s), whereas someone like pellius was in his 50s, where the damage of gear is more impactful.
At that age, if you want to keep roiding, it should be low/hrt test, low hgh and maybe a little slin.
I seriously doubt his family cares whether the folks he interacted with on Getbig care whether anyone here gets closure, even if they knew about him posting here for years and years.

My brother died that way, tremendous blow for the family but much better than living with a hardly functioning heart, paranoid of possible heart attacks and living in misery.
Some people able to live over 2 decades with 30 percent heart function, I definitely don't envy them.

A few years ago, I purchased a 2011 dark purple mustang convertible V8 with black drop top and cream interior.
It was a real gem with low miles , in mint condition. I finally owned my "dream car".
However, after 4 years the mileage got higher and some basic mechanical issues began to creep in.
It just wasn't practical to keep it any longer and the cost to maintain it for daily driving was getting pricey
2 years ago, I was offered a top dollar trade in value for it at a nearby KIA dealership.
So, I used the Mustang trade in value towards a new, loaded KIA Optima.
The Optima rides like a limo and has awesome options like heated seats and steering wheel :D.
I miss the old mustang when I see pics of it, BUT, I love driving my Optima.
It was a dark green color. Not sure the name exactly, but a forest green type? It was a custom paint job. My dad was a mechanic to put himself through college. Many of his friends were into drag racing so they all had a good knowledge of cars.
I remember it had a 351 with a massive camshaft. At idle it sounded like a monster. It was a 4-speed standard trans and often broke parts because he would launch it so hard. He went through a lot of axles and diffs. Very fast car for its time.
My mom used to hate it, i remember a few times he took me to school in it, i don't think it was street legal.
I've had a few Mustangs over the years, they are fun cars to drive.

I loved cruising around in nice weather with the top down.
Plus, I actually felt the broom-broom sound as it idled when stopped.
Occasionally , on weekend nights, I'd floor mine driving down the on-ramp into the highway.
The feeling of raw power and acceleration was exhilarating.
It got up to 85-90 mph pretty quick and for safety reasons, I took my foot off the gas then.

I spoke with Ernie Santiago last nite and he was not aware of anything regarding Pellius, but did mention a couple of Hawaii BB related deaths due to Covid.
He also mentioned that the big gyms on Oahu now belong to B.J. Penn who may be able to provide further information providing that GetBigger can call with accurate info such as Pellius' full name and date of death.
I only made a call to 24 Hr Fitness with negative results, but I tend to think that one of the B.J. Penn gyms was more likely to be the choice of Pellius.

His name was Philip Michael Gilkey. According to the Honolulu Medical Examiner's office, he died on October 31st. I did not ask for the cause of death. An autopsy report from them can take up to 16 weeks to complete. Philip was one of seven children. He was preceded in death by both his mother and later his father.

Just looking at his Father's online obit and family photos, it seemed he had a large and loving family. That's all anyone can ask for. Family that loves and cares for them.....

I believe he died on October 31st and we heard within a week, so it has been over a month. That original thread where all the controversy was can't be found.
Pellius wasn't my best friend....more like a pain in my ass (no pun intended). What he was, was a Getbigger through and through. Wouldn't it be great if some of you would recall some of his finer moments here instead of making this thread about you. Crazy as it seems, I miss him.
