So our recent slackness about brushing Smokey regularly (like every day!!) finally came back to get us. Last night was Hairball Night!!
Smokey usually sleeps in the bed with us all night and does not move until my alarm goes off at 5:30, at which time he jumps up and begins to bitch loudly for breakfast.
Well, around 2 AM last night, he was very restless...got up and started wandering around the bedroom, meowing with that "my stomach hurts" tone. He kept jumping up on his hind legs, and sratching at me and waking me up, so I knew what was in store for the rest of the night.
He climbed all over the headboard of the bed, got on the bedstand and knocked a bunch of stuff off, meowed non-stop, and unrolled the ENTIRE roll of toilet paper in the bathroom.
He threw up FIVE TIMES between 2 AM and 5 AM, leaving me to get up and clean it every time. The hairball came up on Puke #4, about 4:15 AM. In the spirit of the tripe thread, I almost took a picture of it, but I was waaaaay to tired at that point.
I was too tired to do cardio this morning, so I reset the alarm for 6:30, but of course his stomach was empty so he was bitching for food at the usual 5:30 time. I didn't get much sleep at all last night, and I am a crank today as a result.
This weekend, we will be re-starting the daily brushing routine...no more slacking!! This is required maintenance for a cat with this much hair...I have learned that the hard way!
