One of the most intense games I've watched.  If the Lakers had lost that game I think my son would have had to go see Ron Artest's psychiatrist.   :)

I was. I planned a trip to visit some friends out in Hollywood months back, and by chance, the series went seven games and I was lucky enough to go to the game. I didn't think we would be able to get tickets, but my old college buddy had a friend who had a friend, blah-blah-blah.

What a great game and what a great series. The Lakers deserved it.

It was. I am a fan of sports, and if another team plays tough and they do it the right way (as the Lakers did) I don't mind seeing my team take a loss.

Game 7 NBA's most-watched since '98
ESPN.com news services

NEW YORK -- Not since Michael Jordan's final championship has a pro basketball game drawn a bigger audience than last week's seventh game of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

The Nielsen Co. said Tuesday that 28.2 million people watched Kobe Bryant's Lakers win their second straight NBA championship. It was the most-watched NBA game since Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to their sixth championship over the Utah Jazz in 1998.

Except for the Olympics, Nielsen said last Thursday's game was the most-watched show on network TV in the summertime since the finale of the first "Survivor" season in August 2000.

It follows a trend of big ratings for big events on TV. This year's Super Bowl reigns as the most-watched event in U.S. television history, with an audience of 106 million.

LOL he is a good player, one of the best defenders in the game but he is one of those ppl that you love when he is playing for you and hate when he is on another team.

Yeah.  I agree.

Although . . . as I watched him this year, he really behaved himself.  Turned out to be a tremendous asset.  Ariza must be kicking himself.

I agree with him about Kobe crying too much, but I guess Tommy missed the Doc Rivers press conference where he said he was sending a tape to the league office to complain about D-Fish.

Heinsohn was very unhappy that the Celtics lost, and displeased, as well, that certain people got to celebrate.

“Kobe (Bryant) and Phil Jackson, I didn’t want either of those guys to win,” he said.

Why the dislike for Bryant and his coach?

“Well, first of all, I got tired of listening to Phil Jackson create the atmosphere around the referees to watch this and watch that,” Heinsohn said. “(Celts coach) Doc (Rivers) didn’t do any of that stuff. And Kobe, on every play, if he didn’t score he was bitching about getting hit. OK? The two most protected players in the league don’t need protection - LeBron (James) and Kobe. But Kobe, I don’t know how many times he went up in the air and came down, walked, and then passed the ball, and that never got called. And he was shooting elbows at the defender to get him out of the way.

“Now you know why I dislike him.”
